Not sure why you removed the boy looking for his dad. In the original version, the tragedy was that the kid couldn't run because of his dad and despite his bravery, he was killed anyway because that's the way the cookie crumbles. Now he's a coward and gets what comes to a coward. I like the original better. Even shooting the guy. He's a spooked kid with a rifle, after all. What do you expect to happen?

Why not just remove the line about her brother? It serves no purpose to irk people like me who see all one continuity. It is always better to let the viewer decide if previous films are in continuity or not, NOT decide for the viewer with a throw in line that adds nothing to the plot. Either way, I consider the dialog to be gossip and inaccurate, so they're ALL still in continuity.

Agreed about the line about her brother. Not just because of the continuity thing, although that's a major part of it, but also because the way the line is written and delivered in both versions is just so phoned in and out of place in the movie to begin with.

I am THE no.1 jaws fan…the original….BUT…HOLY CRAB! Where is the spirit of FUCKING imagination!!!., how about NEW stories that give us the creeps!….this f…remake reminded me of Disney with its bloody life action remakes! As if we the viewers were dunkies with no feelings and no memories!, everything is focused on money!…btw, lets make the shark be gay!…another Indiana Jones!, this will FAIL too!
