I'm a lifelong GM guy and have had numerous small blocks through the years, but the Coyote really is an impressive engine. And it's hard to top what those can do with a Whipple bolted to the top of an otherwise stock bottom end.

Both can be built to be amazing engines but stock vs stock the LS is the superior engine.

I have a 1970 amc javelin that i just converted from 4 wheel manual drum brakes to power wilwood disc in the front but still drums in the rear. The car stops way better but the drum brakes keep acting up, overheating, grinding, overall they just suck. Im gonna have to find some rear discs to put on it.

Awesome video and sounds like your books are as well!! I have saved your site to buy later. However the1977 Z28 was just a suspension and decal package. Do some more research it was much more. Look up Hot Rod magazine review and front cover which shows all the parts to make a Z-28.

Four wheel drum brakes really aren’t that bad. Had a 63 4 door Impala with a 383/400 combo and it could stop comfortably

I had a 81 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup with a TH-350C. It had the lockup converter on it. I wired a switch to the vacumm relay that I could drive it around town with the TC unlocked. Otherwise it was constantly locking and unlocking around town in traffic

Your missing The L96 that went through 2019 in the 2500 and 3500 series trucks. Also, the Dorman manifold is cheap, low profile, available from any Autozone, Oriellys or Advanced parts stores and offers the same performance as the TBSS manifold.... Search "LS DORMAN INTAKE TEST-TBSS VS DORMAN (LOW vs GO)" by Richard Holdener Richard Holdener

There is a point of negative return with big tires. Also, well maintained drums work fine and it is actually cheaper to manufacture disk brakes.

Too critical of drum brakes. If they are fresh, high quality and properly adjusted, bled and maintained, they are ok. Not the best, sure. But they are safe and legit.

😮 That's right. In fact don't run any kind of electronic crap . Carburators work better b we because they have venturise, are much less likely to failure @10 yrs. Beyond the date of purchase. And can be easily rebuilt. T same by goes for your ignition system. To many circuits mean short's are coming to ruin your day. Usually in t CPU $$$$$. Have fun finding one of those things in t wrecking yard that's worth buying 10yrs later.

He's the "car guy" that's gonna tell you how you should build your classic car, I say do what you want with your own car, it's your car and your money and nobody should tell you or try to persuade you to change what your trying to achieve. But I do find it funny that he thinks putting 50 pounds of dynamat in your several thousand pound car is gonna make a difference with power loss, fuel mileage and handling. And he talks about changing out and converting all of these expensive parts and components to make it handle and perform like a race or rally car but then tells you to keep the motor stock. I genuinely don't see a point to this video.

I have an interesting notion which I heard about occurring when the Granatellis (of Paxton Products) back when they were working on Studebaker R3 engines (1962 & 1963). There were Studebaker cylinder heads with a larger bore circle than the block. It appears as if someone at Paxton used a half-round file and "scalloped" the top of the block where the valves would have interfered, making it so they could clear. Could this not be done today to clear a 4" bore block for 4.125" bore heads? It was successfully achieved in the 1960s but "Studebaker" so that's why it's been under the radar this whole time.

My dad put some oversize tires on his 67 Cougar and it hydroplaned horribly @ 50 mph in the rain. Unplanned lane changes were the norm. He traded it to a dealer and the new owner put it into a cornfield a week later.
