Johnny Harris is proven to not be a so-called "unbiased" journalist. He's a propagandist. It's not about the truth but an agenda he's pushing.

The problem with Harris isn’t that he’s dishonest or comes in with an agenda but rather who he talks to. Often his informants aren’t looked into as much has he ought to do to. His videos can radially perpetuate miss information because the people he interviewed aren’t always vetted as he should and it clearly informes his opinion.

I think that core of your idea is wrong. If I understand correctly you’re saying that rulers of Grand Principality of Moscow could not consider themselves as heirs of Rus, because after Rus collapse they were dependent on Golden Horde. And you’re completely ignoring fact, that after Rus collapse Ivan III from Rurik dynasty (same dynasty that ruled Rus before its collapse) ruling Principality of Moscow managed to conquer most of the other Principalities and created political entity that was as you said “rebranded” as Russia in next centuries. I think any of the Principalities created from Rus could consider themselves as Rus heir. Not only Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia. And no, I’m not a Russia supporter. I like them as much as you do. I just don’t consider your history interpretation valid. Be safe out there.

Greeks during the ottoman empire had a belief that the "blond race" was going to protect and liberate them against the Turks. And while the Russians did a lot of wars against the Turks in most cases Russians didn't not care about reinstating the Byzantine empire but only considering itself as it's sole successor (hence a nickname for Moscow is "third rome") and that notion is kept alive until today The first example of their indifference was the orlov revolt (during the sixth Russo-Turkish war) were Alexei Orlov instigated a revolt against the Turks in southern Greece resulting in a devastating defeat for Greece and mass killing and pillaging for the next decade while the Russians got free, safe passage on the Bosporus strait to enter the Mediterranean sea unopposed. The second example is during the greek war of independence (1821) were greeks had a secret society claiming that they had the russians backing their cause, but after russians helped the turks defeating greeks in Romania. Because after the Congress of Vienna they had no interest in supporting greeks only until the last moment (1828) and only because they didn't want the french and the British take all the glory. A third example is on the Crimean war were greeks again showed huge support for Russia even attacking on behalf of Russia from the south but they couldn't get any support from Russia and got bailed out by Britain. And again and again and again greece has huge support for Russia, even when the greeks were fighting in the greek civil war the communists showed support for stalin and the USSR despite Tito was the one supplying them thus losing the civil war, and later when the USSR set a trial condemning CPG's leader for supporting the greco-italian war in 1940 despite the USSR not giving them permission to do so. Despite many examples of russians giving Greeks the short end of the stick greece and greeks overall were the one of the Russia's greatest supporters going all sides of the political spectrum

While you're right about Putin, but wrong about Russian people. If you are right, then Putin did not have to kill Navalny, did not have to ban opposition parties, and even with that, did not have rig elections. The proof is wast. I understand, you have all the reasons to hate all Russians. Believe me, most of the Russians (especially, if you count people who fled the country, because of Putin) hates Putin and want him go. They don't want to live in that environment. Of course, as everywhere, there are massive amount of opportunist, even ones who believe in, whatever Putin believes. But that's not the majority. You wwant tell us, they are, but you're wrong in that. I'm telling you this not as Russian, not as Ukrainian, but as someone lives in between, in a post-communist place, who knows and felt the Soviet rule. Anyway, with hate, especially without open-mindness, no one solved any problems so far.

Dear Savage, what you say is true, but unfortunately your place-names and ethnonyms are incorrect: Muscovy, not „Moskovia“; Muscovite, not „Mooskovit“; Rusyns; „Ruthenians“ (rutheni) were a Celtic tribe.

dude just hates my country. he showed a couple freaks and said «well they all are like this». It is the west’s falt that putin exists (by the way he is the only reason of russian imperialism, when he’s gone the imperialism will be gone). They could have done so much since the war in georgia in 2008 and they didn’t do shit.

Witness three russian symptoms here: Ignorance, Outsourcing responsibility and bitterness. 1) IGNORANCE is shown by claiming *pootin is only reason of russian imperialism.* As always the case - no amount of facts would open their eyes. Russians/Muscovites are socially engineered/cultured to treat open mind as weakness. Their society trains to value strength more than anything else and to despise weakness more than anything else. They understand only language of force. Hence engaging in discussion with them is waste of time - but this can act like good "live case example" of their ignorance. 2) OUTSOURCING RESPONSIBILITY - he plays victim by blaming the west for feeding pootin thus avoiding personal responsibility for the way HIS country is. 3) BITTERNESS - he also did not watch my video cuz I point blank said I don't hate them and expose their imperialism even before pootin was in power. Just a bitter human with fake history and still thinking his gas station is a real country, while reality is clearly not so. So he's trying to cope best he can. I'd be bitter be I in his shoes as well

Americans don’t get it. Too many have grown up after the Cold War and they aren’t taught 20th century history. They’re being presented with the situation in Russia de novo, as if nothing happened in the past century and served up with a favorable image of the USSR as a utopian socialist paradise. I grew up in the 80’s with the constant threat of nuclear war. They haven’t experienced that kind of existential dread. They don’t know about communist propaganda. Or how the Soviets violated literally every single treaty they ever signed. I had friends and colleagues who grew up under communism. It was horrible. The standard of living was poor. Free medical care, housing, food, etc? Sure, if there was enough to go around. And their technology was decades out of date. There was no choice. No freedom. Not the vision of a communist utopia that’s pushed in the US now. I had a recent conversation with a young gay couple who said they wished they lived in the USSR where their rights would have been respected, rather than the US. They were utterly shocked when I told them if they had been openly gay in the Soviet uniting, they would be dead or in a gulag. One of my Russian friends said it best: Russia wants desperately to be viewed as a great country, but they’re just so inept and backwards. Everyone knows it, and it contributes to an inferiority complex. That’s why they constantly lie, threaten, brag, and propagandize.

I'm Czech, in WWI, the soviets tried to slaughter Czechoslovak legionairres, who actualy fought through the whole country, travelling the few hundred kilometers west to their country via the US. After WWII, the soviets occupied my country, prevented us from participating in the Marshall plan and destroyed our industries. In 1968, Warsaw pact tanks rolled into their member country and didn't leave until 1991. After they left, the ground under their barracks was thoroughly dead, soaked with oil. The Russkies also stole our reserves of uranium ore, which was mined using political prisoners (including our first free president). And because of a very strong fifth column (including our 2nd and 3rd presidents), Russkies didn't even repay their debts to us.

It is a disgrace how western politicians and managers threw all logic overboard and not only ignored a genuine criminal mafia dictatorship for decades, but also helped to establish it. And subordinated everything to the ignoble pursuit of profit! The bill that now has to be paid will be many times greater than what was previously saved! Worse still, they still haven't understood the signs of the times and powerful forces, via the lying, "antisocial networks", are increasingly trying to "decapitate" our democracies! And we watch helplessly! Trump and his GOP sect could usher in our downfall!
@Patriots01713 сағат бұрын
As an American, we have a bit of bias towards not exactly liking Russia (obviously). I was born after the Soviets fell so I didn't get to experience the "red scare" stuff being literally everywhere. I mean literally everywhere. TV shows, cartoons, cereal boxes, toys...you name it and it probably had anti-Soviet rhetoric somewhere. A lot of that has calmed down since then - even after the events in Ukraine. That part is very disturbing. We're watching a generation that grew up with nuclear annihilation at the hands of Russia a mere sneeze away start to DEFEND the war crimes we're watching with our own eyes crying "not our problem" or "we've been encroaching them." Now we have the ongoing effects of Trump and his rhetoric of "I respect them" that somehow is only growing in popularity and making it worse. A country that claims itself the "defender of democracy" just wants to watch while blood is pointlessly shed at the hands of warmongers. Then people get mad when they see support going to Ukraine. Truly an awful time to be alive.
