Please tell me you will replaxe those bearings in the bottom end. They were noisy as all hell and obviously bad. Its a simple matter of tine till they start coming apart and destroy more parts in the motor. If you didnt hear those bearings rattling in their races you are deaf.

Howdy!! Got the same bike and I would love to restore that’s why I’m watching this video, is there any advice you got for an amateur bike mechanic like me to make this project possible? The starter kick is not working
@bobhannah99447 ай бұрын
not a restoration- and never leave a crank bearing on the crank shaft for a install-the right way to fix the broken stud is on a angle plate using a bridgeport to drill and tap on the correct stud location.
@JohnDoeEagle15 ай бұрын
Not even close to a restoration. It's not even a competent rebuild. Why would you put all those heavily used and worn parts back in and together when you have the entire thing completely torn down? IE new bearings new piston, rings, clutch etc etc. These types of guys give people a bad name. It's going to blow up again shorty after he flips it I would bet money on. If you aren't going to do things right just don't do them at all. Having to fix and rework some hack's shoddy work that doesn't know what they are doing is twice as much work as them just leaving it alone. Also by this part in time and history there are no such thing as "parts bikes" anymore. He also wrecked and cut up a perfectly good bike someone else could have easily restored the right way.

Man u do some really nice looking work. Been working on sleds since idk 13 maybe. Im 45 now so i know the work and motivation it takes. Raced sleds for 15 years SX and pro XC racing. Many wins and championships takes a lot of work motivation and dedication. Very impressive love seeing a younger generation working on snowmobiles cleaning carbs. Idk if u raved before or how many times but u looked good out there. If u want the hole shot gotta clutch and jet for it. That and never take ur eyes off the tip of the flag. Soon as u see movement hit the throttle. Keep it up and u will go places. Nice work great video

That's a bummer about the 1 inch shaft......I hope my 4.5hp 2 stroke has a 3/4 in shaft. I wanted to make a diy motoped / dual sport moped 🛵. I'm hoping if mine is 1in that I can find a 1in clutch. Or some type of bolt on bslanced reducer coupler kit. Or go jackshaft, cvt etc...A high compression head E85 build would give it some kick.
