I am cracking up because I grabbed Fried Egg Jellyfish. I had been wanting it forever. And I looked up the actual jellyfish online and it’s utterly WILD looking. Exactly like a fried egg. I just had to get it. The pen came and it’s beautiful. I can’t wait to ink it up.

I was thinking of you as my neighbours are in Bath this weekend where there is 10-day Jane Austen festival, people are dressed up in period costume, there are talks and tours and it sounds lovely. Apparently 3,500 people are attending.

What a jam packed check in, amazing! I love that you are drawing your pens, great idea. Zentangle? I have never heard of this before. Fascinated by the art you showed, did you freehand draw those patterns? Fried egg jellyfish, blech. Hobonichi prices did go up this year, significantly, due to all the inflation happening all over the west. /// I am 2 years into the Hobonichi five year (A5), it is so different than regular journals, and very fun once you start lapping years. /// By the way, Hobonichi website was a mess this year, nightmare experience.

Asvine has a v126 in that transparent brown color. They might not be exactly the same but I own one and I love it. The nibs are more western like, I’m not sure if the company is Japanese or not but my fine is like a medium and my medium is more broad. But definitely worth the $28 on Amazon ✍🏽

Think of a sushi master preparing fried egg jellyfish for and you only. After that he goes into retirement and will never make it again. You eat it, of course, although you are a little wary of the jellyfish, but it has been marinated in a secret yuzu sauce for a week and it is tender and fresh against the umami of the fried egg - you love it and now to keep the memory, you just have to buy the pen… Or just remember that in Japanese it is Kurage no medamayaki (according to google translator) which sound so much better. Drawing your pens is such a great idea for 30I30D!

Had to chime in about the Sailor 1911 Jellyfish. I hear you about the name "Fried Egg," but it's actually a kind of jellyfish that resembles a fried egg. 😅 I buckled under the beauty of the brown pen, only to be disappointed that it's a sparkly-ish more of an orange color. But its F nib is just too good not to use. But I really don't like this "fried-egg" color. 😄

@@timewithtata8004 I really love the nib! Funny, cos I have a Sailor 1911S that I bought at Maruzen 23 years ago, so I inked that up, and wow, why did I ever stop using it? (Oh right, all these other pens, eventually Nakaya and Pilot mostly, :D ). Meanwhile, I have a Sailor PGS Cony (so cute!) and a few other Sailors purchased, so... I guess I owe thanks to Jellyfish Fried Egg for that. :D (The sparkles would be fine if the color were more brown or amber than orange.) :)
