Vintage Pelikan M620 New York Fountain Pen Unboxing! A new member of the Flock!

Hi… thank you so much for showcasing this Pelikan NYC pen! I fell in love with it after seeing this video and just received mine the other day. I finally inked it up with Akkerman’s Business in the front, party in the back muted blue ink. What a fabulous writer and I adore the pale blue color of the pen. I got a fine nib. Thanks for turning me on to the existence of this pen!

I just received a new pen today Asvine J 16 in the brushed titanium with a Jowo nib. Very nice piston filler, very reasonable priced from Amazon!

Hi Lori, what a nice find! I love Pelikan pens, i usually prefer medium but for Pelikans, Fine nib is better👍👍

If you want to change your extra fine nib out on your Pelikan, Appelboom sells replacement nibs. In the past the m400 nibs were interchangeable with the m200. That might be another option to try.

Thanks for sharing your collection! I think the Pelikan Souveran Stresemann in anthracite is one the most beautiful pens out there and I really want one of the larger sizes. The dilemma I face is that I’ve never written with one. Like you mentioned, the larger sized nibs are bouncy and I don’t know that I would like that. I’ve also read and heard that the nibs write “wider” than what they are listed, so I would be looking for an extra fine. I don’t live close to any retail locations to try and I’ve only been to the Ohio Pen Show once and didn’t really see anyone being allowed to test the more expensive pens like these. Any suggestions on trying before buying or just jump right in?

You mentioned that all shimmering inks are not the same. I’d love to hear more about that. I love the look of shimmering inks, but get frustrated with them when they start clogging the pen and creating hard starts.

Lori, you made me buy that cover (the LV) it was my birthday and it was totally justified. 😂 So… I ordered from Sterling ink the N2 size (TN size) full year and it fits so beautifully in that cover! Hi Susan. Thank you so much for being here. I have many inks from FWP and I enjoy them. I bought the Carousel fountain pen a while back but I found the cap to be tough to get on and off (but it wrote nicely). I think I prefer the Kaweco or TWSBI in that range. I love the look of the brush style fountain pen from FWP but I haven't tried it yet. Their marketing is top notch!
