We drive through here last week looking at a home for sale and the traffic in this town is a nightmare. So much traffic so many red lights and so built up.

People moving in here will turn it into a dump, homeless camps, crowded roads, taking our jobs, noisy rude kids, vandalism, crime, drugs. The world is over populated. Go somewhere like Wyoming or Texas. We dont want more.

You did a pretty good job defining Virginia but you did not spend time on the great educational opportunities and the huge variety of arts , music and foods available in Virginia. Virginia is the state with the broadest range of history in the county from first settlement to greats number of Civil War sites to the most American Presidents of any state. It provides a taste of all 4 beautiful seasons without extremes. You can run to the mountains or the beach if it too hot. Good job but Virginia is so much more. You get a very good standard of living for your taxes in the form of good school, roads, government and amenities. That stuffs not free.

I'm from Norfolk VA .. i recently went to the holston damn.. such a beautiful view that brought a tear from my eye I've never had that happen before but let me tell you its a memory i pray i can remember for the rest of my days

Sounds good to this Floridian too!!! The humidity and Hurricanes have gotten to me, and I miss the smaller hometown feel that I left behind in Idaho 9 years ago, but we love it out east, so we might need to move north to Tennessee. Btw, I miss the friendly people too, so I look forward to being someplace that doesn’t think friendliness is strange~My fiancé and I will find some time soon to check out Tennessee as a possible place to live out our retirement years🤩

I see Tennessee turning blue in the next decade. The amount of new comers is staggering. They will forget why they left and what caused it. Buckle up

The remodeling looks good, however the floor plan is not so good. The public spaces are too small for the number of bedrooms. In my opinion, the first floor master suite is a total fail. It takes up half the house and the fact that you can see the 2nd bathroom from the eating area/dining room, is a big no no for many buyers in the current market. Actually that has been a historical problem, no one I have ever met house hunting says "oh yes, I definitely want to see the bathroom while I'm eating in the dining room" said no one ever ! The second floor is good, but the first floor is... sad... imagine putting all the hard earned money into a floor plan that needs to be remodeled right from the minute you walk into it.

Virginia is too liberal for my taste. The gun laws, the vehicle tint laws, and taxes. 😢

The place is like an amusement park. You can have anything you want if you pay the fee, or whatever the governments and businesses choose to call it. The bridge between the rich and the poor increases every day. Sadly, this is not isolated. For us, the best way is to get out of the USA. We did, and we love our lives beyond the USA. Where is it? Any place is better than the USA. We found the best place for us, and you can, too.

My favorite place in Bristol is the Museum/ Birth Place of Country Music. It is amazing! We are where it happened in 1927. The quality of the exhibition, films, studio, artefacts, etc… is staggering. Moving. Great welcome.

You talk about cost of living and taxes but you don’t talk about the better paying jobs in northern Va and other areas. That’s myopic. Median household income in northern Va $140,515. Median household income in Tenn. $65,254.

I'm curious how TN treats black Republicans. I don't get much love anywhere else. Can't stand Cali or new York, the place or the people. Looking to live with like minded folks but I run into issues there as well as many who think like me still don't like me due to how I look if you know what I mean. I run into a little of everything. But, I just want a safe place to live with my family that loves guns! I'm originally from Colorado but left because of too many liberals, I'm not going back! So I need a new home. You shouldn’t have listened the ‘high’ sales tax, as a negative, then give the number one pro, low taxes. The ‘high’ (obviously relative to other states) sales tax is the reason TN can have no income tax and lowish property tax! TN has the best tax plan in the country. Best for every level of income. If you don’t want to pay taxes then don’t buy stuff. I would make it better with no tax on food but at least food is taxed at a way lower rate. Income tax is regressive, it screws everyone and suppresses productivity. Property tax is just government protected steeling, and screws retirees and old people on fixed income. Also, mentioning traffic was kind of silly. All big cities are horrible. In fact in spite of what people here say and think, Memphis’s rush hour is the most nonevent rush hour of anyplace in the have been. I can’t believe you didn’t mention crime in the democrat run cities Memphis, Nashville (I don’t know about the eastern TN cities)! But the crime here is ridiculous. Conversely lack of crime in most places should have been a positive.

Virginia is too mercurial to encapsulate in a short video. There are multiple sections, northern Va., southeast, Virginia Beach/Norfolk, central/Richmond, and variants from there. I've lived here my whole live and they are extremely different with subtle plus and minuses within.

We just moved the East Tennessee spring of 2024, and I can say, Tennessee’s greatest asset is its people. They are genuinely nice here, courteous and friendly. We love the state’s beauty; we sometimes have deer visit our wooded back yard. We are both retired and have easily left our other life behind. We love this state; it *is* “home”.
