When replacing the seal at 30:00 can you do that without removing all the things you removed up until that point? Just wanting to install new outers at the moment
@bbsbcvАй бұрын
Yes, those can be replaced without removing anything else. It's just easier if the glass is out already.

You did a really nice job on this. I have the same problem on my '74 Corvette. The brake keeps heating up and smoking and I finally figured out from watching this video that I highly suspect I have a bad hose. Whenever I try to bleed it I can hardly get any brake fluid out of it at all just like you were experiencing. I've been trying to figure this out for a few days now so thanks for taking the time 👍

You are awesome Bob. Just acquired a '62 International B160 truck with a twisted front bumper that looks just like your jeep bumper. The super thick metal looks like it came from an armored tank. I will definitely try this method. Gave you a thumbs up and subscribed.

Thanks for the video. Was stuck pressing new studs into the rotor and hub. I used the old rotor, like you have with my press and they all just poped in. It's the little tricks that help.

Great video 👍. Your spindle is missing a metal seal tho that fills in the space at the base of the flange that the V seal smushes in to (unless my spindle is different from yours)

HMM, I ponder a 90 degree brass fitting on the main block piece so Gauge can be reconfigured- further from the Exh manifold, a splitter type so to have Both gauge types on engine?.

Really like the HOW to make tis easier @3: 20 to losen OP bypass spring assm mounted to block still. A very thought thru person. Wear scar on gear pockets is really not too much an issue and doesn’t affect OP too much unless it's galled deeply. The end plate wear creates byp[ass pressures, can add to Lower Pressure though. Just resurface it and replace on, OR get a SS plate from BJ’s. It can be a help to lower wear and prevent bypass on End of gears. I bought the SS plate for my rebuild on a 401. Isn’t essential as OEM design refreshed and KEEP OIL CLEAN and filter changed, this OEM will last your lifetime or 150K+ miles Easily. Along with the new TC cover piece I bought should be a full excellent rebuild. . It is imperative to make the clearances proper, end & gear cogs side to wall , Spec it out!! That will be your best friend, is fairly simple to too. The cost of a special 007” gasket for ONE stinking single gasket, “$35.00+, ppl THINK they will get from ppl holding them HOSTAGE practically for this ONE element, is flat ASININE stupid ripoff! For a 0.15c piece of paper. LOL, You GOTTA be kidding ME! I worked in Part parts sales Long time enough to know this is basic paper materials. That's ALL it is. Cleanroom - Blue paper’, is 0.006” and can work the same. First off, get a mechanical OP Gauge setup and use IT to measure was your OP Output actually is .

Sooo..that beveled spindle washer..? Is that metal? Is it called a axle spindle thrust washer?
@35ppt4 ай бұрын
Depends on which Dana 44 you have. Mine’s a 66-71 ford open knuckle and that washer (thrust) is bronze. When you buy the spindle internal bearing kit for yer Dana model it comes with the suitable thrust washer (I’ve seen rubber ones and steel ones)

Those two pull knobs work the fresh air vents at your feet. One for the driver, one for the passenger. Very good looking truck, especially for a plow truck! Usually, they’re all rusted out.

How in the world did you just "pop" on that aggravating clip. I've struggling with piss poor design for over an hour. You must have super fingers!!
@RPJJTV-my4gc7 ай бұрын
I used every four-letter word I could think of and it still didn't help. That spring clip is stubborn. I used some plyers to open-up the 4 tabs on the washer just a little bit and gave it another attempt. Success! Bleeding fingers, but success.
@BenjaminAllerston7 ай бұрын
@@RPJJTV-my4gc I eventually got the clip back on after watching your video again. I noticed that you were quite liberal with lithium grease, so I greased the clip & post, then using some light gloves and some force it popped in place. Maybe just luck, but seemed a tad easier to install. Thanks for your reply

@@bbsbcv OK, thanks. Given how much you had to modify and make due I picked up some nylon filament and thought I might give 3d printing some of them a try. That or try making some out of delrin on the lathe. Good tips though for those without a lathe. I really appreciate your methodical approach with the explanations. Your vacuum hose video will be very helpful coming up as well.

It’s possible to over-crush that washer on the drain-plug, and the filter housing just has to be tightened down enough to let the o-ring do its job sealing that cover, so I use them each time.
