Hi guys just found your channel today! My husband and I visited about 3 years ago and loved it. How is the trash and littering there? When we were there it seemed super clean, but maybe we didn't walk around enough outside the hotel to other neighborhoods, I've been to several parts of Mexico and the trash just makes me sad, I know they don't have same garbage pickup like we are used to it US & Canada, but it just seems people do litter on purpose as well. We want to take another trip there and check it out again now that we have our MX residency. Please be honest I can handle it😊 Thanks!!

@KatKatz11 Hello Kat, thank you so much for watching and subscribing. Yes, Mexico does not have garbage or recycling programs like Canada or the USA does. They're starting more recycling ♻️ recently. But yes, there is still lots of garbage/litter at the sides of the highways. Huatulco is trying to constantly clean up areas, sidewalks, parks, and beaches. People sometimes are lazy and don't clean up after themselves, not just here but all over the world. We walk all over Huatulco, it's relatively clean compared to other Canadian and US cities we have been to.

@@KristinaandDavidthank you... The feeling I got when I was there is that they keep their touristy area very clean and a lot of the side streets we drove on I actually saw people out sweeping in front of their stores so that is good!. I agree I moved to Florida 20 years ago from Western NY near Niagara Falls and thought Florida was so clean... But now I am seeing litter in the parking lots at Walmart and convenience stores, so yes litter is having a come back in the US. I appreciate your getting back to me and I will continue to watch your videos thank you

@KatKatz11 Yes, I believe Mexico just needs more garbage cans, which i know Huatulco has been doing and installing around the area. In centro and side streets, people are out sweeping and washing their sections of sidewalks, keeping their area clean. Thank you for the support, we very much appreciate it. 🙏

I found zipolite thru KZbinrs Nick and Lins , went to zipolite 3 times in 2024 and headed there Jan 21 , the place is a true gem of a community , awesome people live there and love the freedom to be naked on beach , I am glad the town is more authentic Mexico and not a big Cancun type place . I stayed at casa nudista , Budamar , hotel Noga , el Alquimista . The place is my place of peace and truly hope it never becomes overrun with tourists. It’s awesome as is . I’m glad the people on here think it’s boring lol, please leave it to me to enjoy as is . Nice video

I will go back in May for sure , too many local friends I met there to stay away , so a fast one week trip . To escape Edmonton winter lol. I’m staying at Budamar this trip but will have to remain in a swimsuit more this trip . Lol. I hired a photographer from Mazunte in oct he did a fantastic boudoir shoot on the beach . The area is sure nicer th a the crowds of playa del carmen or tulum.

Wow, this is interesting because Huatulco was basically unknown before Fonatur (fondo nacional de turismo) the now extinct government agency tasked with identifying and developing potential tourist destinations back in the 70s did so with Huatulco. This is the same government entity that laid the groundwork for Cancun, Loreto and Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. But of course prior to that the locale existed and was there but I guess its foundings hadn't been recognized officially. Also, jaripeo, charreadas, bull riding and cattle ranching are more associated with Mexico's northern states such as Chihuahua, Sonora, Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon and even more particularly with the western state of Jalisco whose ranching culture is well known and celebrated as the charreada, the "national sport" with mariachi music and charros as icons of the culture. Most people associate Oaxaca with mezcal, agave, chocolate and coffee so this was a revelation for me. Thanks guys! 😊
