Just disembarked this morning. A great ship and an exciting crossing! Really enjoyed the service, the food and the entertainment. QA is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We did have a few rough days at sea but she managed it pretty well and we got to New York in the end!

Having just done this trip on QM2, I'd not have wanted to be onboard Queen Anne. Wish I didn't get seasick! 😂❤

We were on the QA. It was a good sailing, but I wish we had been on the QM2. My wife was so concerned she packed a go-bag. We are booked on the QA for the British Isles cruise in May. Looking forward to it. Hopefully, we will eventually end up on the QM2.

I was on the maiden North Atlantic crossing. It was rough, even for days!! My cabin, #7034 is in the front of the ship, and unfortunately it creaked, groaned, and popped a lot!! It was especially tough to sleep through because in addition to being noisy, it also shook/moved around a lot with jolts. I Love cruising, but that was a little much!!

Oh no, and we'll be in #7030!😱

So sorry for your experience. A crossing can be very nice...on Queen Mary 2, a really Ocean Liner. Queen Anne is nice, but only for smooth cruises. Maritime regards.

well after all it is a cruise ship, and im pretty sure its just a tradition for newly built passenger ships to take on transatlantic voyages even if they are not built for such conditions

I am on the Queen Anne now but just boarded in Brooklyn this morning. She is a lovely ship. I haven't explored her yet as I still have bags outstanding that I want to check. I will have 17 days to explore, though, and I am still finding my way around my stateroom. 😁

Won’t it be wonderful if the 250th ship was a proper ocean liner to keep the QM2 company on the North Atlantic?!

We’re fans of Cunard and travelled to the Norwegian Fjords on Queen Anne last June. TBH, we concluded that we much prefer the QV and QE. The QA has 50% more passenger capacity but struggles to handle it. Only 3 banks of lifts like the smaller vessels meant long waits at times, and it just feels more crowded than the two smaller vessels. I doubt we’ll be booking on her in the future.
@dennistay998014 күн бұрын
Is there a reason Cunard did not strengthen the Queen Anne's bow like what they did with Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth?
@2010jakem14 күн бұрын
My guess would probably be coming down to $$$ - Cunard probably couldn't justify the additional cost for upgrading her like they did QE and QV.
@ShipfacedTony14 күн бұрын
They did reinforce her bow actually

Yes we have tried Anne and definitely not fussed. Think Cunard have missed it with this ship.. We loved the Queen Elizabeth - and now want to try QM2

I would have trepidation to sail on the North Atlantic; only the Queen Mary 2 would allow me to feel comfortable. I did sail once from Rotterdam to New York……on the old SS Rotterdam, which was built for rough sea conditions.

Very likely Queen Berengaria. Naming after Cunard first Queen RMS Berengaria in the 1920s They originally intended for Queen Anne to be named it but from what I believe they decided to hold and name her Queen Anne and save Queen Berengaria for their 250th ship which will likely be an Ocean liner easy to replace Queen Mary. However we won’t see this for at least a good 10 years or so.
@mikeward170111 күн бұрын
@@ryanhelton1865 I could see them wanting their 250th ship to align with their 200th anniversary of operations, but would they really delay their next ship that long? Can Cunard ride out the next 15 years with only 4 ships in service, especially given the rising demand?

Amazing how the SS United States in 1952 did this crossing in less than 4 days

Yes, thats right and too bad they are sinking her as a reef rather than try and save her.

@@J.M.Chadwick6 that’s tragic! If the Queen Mary can be preserved in Long Beach surely the fastest liner the World has ever known, should be a preserved showcase in its own country.

If the Queen Anne is not designated an ocean liner (as per the Queen Mary 2), what restrictions are imposed on the Queen Anne for crossing an ocean as it recently did? The Queen Mary 2 would undoubtedly have been a much costlier build to attain the ocean liner designation. Why put all that extra cost into building an ocean liner to cross oceans if a ship with a lesser designation is allowed to cross an ocean in the same way (apparently) as a designated ocean liner?
