I am self thought Graphic Designer all from South Africa, Now i am honoring a skill to go illustration industry. Katun for me here is the winner. He really did an amazing job, even though i have not watched the movie of the poster he was designing. He did so perfect. Well done guys 👌😍

At first I was horrified seeing the National Geographics cut up.. but then realized how many of them are wasting away in storage, never to be read again. So it's great they are still getting used and if it helps inspire you then it's breathing extra life.

And if people makes comment that because you use hacks you are not a real artist let them know that even Leonardo da Vinci used hacks.

A tip I have is don't feel pressured to turn your love of art into a job. You can keep it as a hobby and have a completely different day job. Having the pressure of trying to please a client, even if it's your friend, is very different than doing it for yourself.

Good tips! Taking my art less seriously and reminding myself that nobody’s going to die if I make bad art paradoxically made my work much better. This isn’t brain surgery people, it’s for fun! 😊❤

The triple tap has completely changed my art. It ties into Jazza's tip of being messy. The triple tap lets me keep loose, even with a final vector design, and know I can just swipe off what I don't need. It's awesome.

Back in the 90s, I was a Manicurist known for my nail art and sculptured nails. I had a line brush that was 18-20 to. Almost microscopic. I would do the most detailed art on someone's fingernails. I love the fluid paints because of the smoothness you can get with a now much larger line brush.

fun fact: the pottery analogy was based on something a real professor did, but the real professor taught photography! the professor's name was jerry uelsmann from the university of florida, and the original version of the tale is in the book "atomic habits" by james clear. the pottery version is from art & fear by david bayles and ted orland. james clear emailed ted orland about the pottery story and learned about its origin and then used it in his own book.
