What Madeira thread do you use for embroidering fonts on marine vinyl? I am using 100% polyester 40 wt. I had somewhat less breaks using your embroidery setup suggestions (cutaway stabilizer, 505 basting spray, SF101 interfacing, 75/11 ballpoint needle), cutting the number of shredding and thread breaks down from every single letter to about every other letter. But my font is too thin and gets sucked into the marine vinyl even when I use a topper. I am making key fobs with embroidering 1/4” font “In loving memory of…” I even had the wording all professionally digitized. Any suggestions? Any suggestions on a site to purchase a bold 1/4” font to embroider on marine vinyl? Thanks for any advice you may have.

What is you opinion on using edge paint stationary rollers--the kind that have an ink well and a roller that sits on it like a tape dispenser version? Sorry for the wonky eplanation lol. Wonderful video, thank you!

I am considering getting either this design or an unquilted design. Are you using cotton or polyester thread to make these designs? I am concerned of the possibility that the polyester thread will melt once the thread comes in contact with the hot pan/dish, etc. Do you have an unquilted version? If you are using cotton thread, can you please advise where you got the thread? Thank you very much.

Hello, I use a polyester thread not cotton. I have not had an issue with melting however I don’t carry hot things very far, just from oven to hot plate holder.

Very nice! But how do you stop the paint from staining the thread. I make embroidered key fobs also and most times I use same color of thread as the faux leather or I use black thread.
@threadmodeembroidery2374
@threadmodeembroidery2374 6 ай бұрын
I don’t get paint on the thread, if I do it’s an accident. The paint would definitely stain or colour the thread. It’s important to be slow and careful to just get it on the edge.

What kind of vinyl are you using, it doesnt look like marine vinyl, it almost looks like cricut vinyl.
@threadmodeembroidery2374
@threadmodeembroidery2374 6 ай бұрын
I use a marine vinyl or an upholstery vinyl. It is definitely not Cricut vinyl as that would never hold up. I get my materials at a local fabric store and they frequently carry an array of random thicknesses of vinyl.

Thank you so much for sharing this video with us! a question, I am using a different brand and I have a terrible problem, it continues cracking on the more flexibles parts it doesn't matter how I do apply the paint, at the beginning looks beautiful and after a few days the paint cracks, does this happend to you with this paint in this kind of pieces?, I can see you create very flexible and high traffic pieces and still looks amazingly ! thanks on advance!

Hi, that is very sad, that after all the work painting it, it cracks. I am not familiar with other brands. This is the one that I’ve used from the beginning because it worked so well on leathers that are also very pliable. I think the only way to find out what works for each individual, is trial and error, unfortunately .

Thank you, this is quite amazing. I had no idea that something like could be done in the hoop. Do you use a thicker than normal needle? The card pocket sides look to be quite bulky.
@threadmodeembroidery2374
@threadmodeembroidery2374 8 ай бұрын
I typically use an 80/12 ball point, only because that is what my machine likes to stitch with. For the cotton materials I sometimes switch to an embroidery needle. The card pocket itself isn't that bulky, however the whole pouch can get bulky if using thicker material. I prefer using cottons with a SF101 interfacing ironed on.

I was meant to watch your video. I was looking for a golfing gift to sew for a friend and clicked on your video. Then I noticed your finger braces, and I knew what they were because I use a couple myself, then I noticed your thumb/wrist brace? Omg! Can you please explain this device and tell me what it helps and where to get one.? I have recently developed horrible pain in the base of my thumb down to my wrist, and it’s hindering me from doing what I love. My fingers get locked in the bent position and my wrist hurts so bad, my finger joints hurt so bad as well,but I have no idea what’s causing all the pain. I was told I have a trigger finger and possibly carpal tunnel, but definitely no arthritis. So I just suffer and cry myself to sleep most nights in pain. I’ve been using a couple finger braces on both my middle fingers, and using compression gloves all the time and ace bandages on my wrist and thumb on right hand, also been sleeping in wrist braces for last 2 years. Anything you could tell me about your devices and any advice to help the pain or what to get my doctor to look at I would be extremely grateful. ❤. Also thank you for the instructions for the golf ball holder. It’s adorable.

Hello, sorry to hear you are dealing with hand/finger pain, it is no fun at all. The ring splints are for loose ligaments as my fingers and thumb bend to far backwards. The thumb splint is not for the wrist it just keeps it in place better with that wrist band. They are from Digi Splint.

Will this work with the very thin floppy vinyls that have fuzzy or felt backs? I have tried a coupl of times but the little threads/ fuzz keeps poking out from the sides. Granted, i can see now my technique was not on point. Thank you.
@threadmodeembroidery2374
@threadmodeembroidery2374 Жыл бұрын
I use the floppy vinyls as well and I just use a lighter along the sides to remove any threads and fuzz. It is harder on the thinner vinyls but it can work. I use some cardboard taped onto the vinyl pieces so I can hold them straighter.
