MP3 functionality didn't hit until after the version of Ubuntu you had the most success with. All of the versions you stuck in could've seen your hard drive with a little investment of time... I get for the sake of video speed skipping it, but in most cases you were two clicks from install..

You should have retried with lowering the RAM for the DosBox on the PSP to 16 MB since that's part of the minimum system requirements and if it worked then up it to at least 24 MB of RAM to see if it would work. My theory as to why it didn't work is because the PSP has already too little RAM, and allocating 32 MB of RAM could have been too much ram than what was free for DosBox to use, depending on how much actual physical RAM was available.
