I got this for christmas from my uncle one year when I was a kid even though I had expressed I wanted a Wii (or Wii U, I cant remember) when that came out. I was hella upset. I remember playing tf outta the tennis one and the ping pong one for a while until summer came around because those were like the only games where the motion controls worked smoothly for me. But safe to say, after that, my family made sure, my grandma in particular rather made sure I didnt end up with a bootleg like that ever again. After that I got the 3ds for christmas the same year it released along with my own laptop and a ps3(ps4 was too expensive and since I was a poor kid, I was VERY happy with a ps3 alone since I still played loads of stuff)

That big chip on it is the rom holding the games and probably some 6502 code. On the otherside of thag board is a BLOB/GLOBTOP chip (a bare silicon dice (no package arround it) is glued to the pcb and then bonded using thin wires and then covered by a blob of epoxy. Its the cheapest way of producing chips). That globtop is likely a NOAC (nes on a chip) basically the chinese have found a way to embed all components of a Nes onto 1 chip. The Ppu, cpu, spu, ram, bootrom all live on the sillicon dice under the epoxy. The other board with the ir sensor also had a blob chip on it but its likely a microcontroller doing the fancy led show and translating the ir codes into signals the noac chip can work with
