a rant about lungs: when we inhale, our thoracic cavity (body cavity) expands to create negative pressure to suck the air from our trachea (windpipe) into our lungs. if we don't have the negative pressure, air will not be able to enter our lungs. our lungs always need to have a bit of air in them called the residual volume. without the residual volume, our alveoli (small grape-like structures in our lungs where blood oxygenation occurs) wouldn't be able to function properly. our lungs have thin layers of film covering them called the pleural membrane. when our pleural membrane has a hole or gets punctured, the residual volume of air would leave our lungs. negative pressure would also not be able to be created and oxygen wouldn't be able to be sucked into our lungs. our lungs would deflate, causing a lung (or both lungs) to collapse. so dan either has thin and messed up pleural membrane thar rip or tear often, or he gets stabbed like every other day, or he has some other lung disease. thank you for coming to my ted talk also, this is the cutest thing I've listened to all month. thank you phas 🤍

As someone who just gets burned-out from Christmas even though I and my folks try to pace it out so it's not alot all at once, I find myself baking until I nearly drop, getting stuck ugly-crying because I got overwhelmed by something, plus all the emotional stresses that come from attending family gatherings, I thank you. All that, and I am not even excited and happy it's Christmas. I get more joy from giving gifts and sharing the cookies I make with people, than it actually being Christmas. Usually I am just constantly on the go, helping my mom cook Christmas eve and Christmas day dinners, plus multiple mandatory church visits, plus all the cleaning for before, during, and after having my grandpa over for dinner. Since mid-October, my mom and I have made approximately 16 separate batches of cookies to divide across 18 deliveries to family and friends. I want to be excited about it being so close to Christmas, but I just have more work to do. I paint minis, and one of my local nerd shops usually has a Christmas party. Well the party came and went over the weekend and we didn't find out until about 2 hours after it started. Part of the nerd shop's Christmas party charm was the painting contest. My dad and I have usually entered for the past few years. This year, we didn't even have the models that was the ones used for the competition barely even past started.
