I planted 4 blueberries about 15 years ago. The last few years they’ve been looking dead and spindly (which might be because I haven’t been deep watering them as much and we’ve had some dry spells). I think they need some pruning. One really looks bad. It’s April and there’s lots of fruit on the branches that look healthy. I probably need to wait to prune them but looking into getting info. Can you do an update on these bushes? Should be 7 years since you pruned these. Thx.

Thank you ! I received several pink lemonade plants from a friend that no longer wanted the . I have had them for 4-5 years and they have not done much of anything. Last fall I decided I’m cutting them back to about nothing and see what happens . I hope they do well ! Thank you so much !

Hormex rooting powder is ideal for use with food producing plants like tomatoes, oranges, apples, blueberry's, etc. Also you can use raw honey which works great for any cutting. I use the honey on my rose clippings

Thanks for the informative videos. Sorry if you addressed this in one of them, but I was wondering about heat. I live in Tacoma where it is 70/50 degrees in September. It will be down to 50/40 degrees by December, and often a week or two even colder. The greenhouse drops to 60 degrees now and will have lows of 40 or colder by December. I am not able to use heat mats with my mist system, but do have a heater. What is the minimum temp you would recommend with fall blueberry cuttings, Semi-lignified?
@ncfruitgrower2 жыл бұрын
Once the cutting start rooting. Treat them just like regular blueberry plants. You can also cover them with a thin cost of hay. Be careful not to damage them. Spring time pot them and you have plants. Thank you for asking.

Why? Why do you ask why about rooting hormone? Probably it is the same reason I ask why. I think the Scientific community needs to provide that answer. Not the "Organic" sales job community. To root a plant with the aid of Indole-3-butyric acid hormone that takes two years to produce a small amount of fruit that may or may not be consumed ???? Hello!!

Some things most home growers hoped to learn: how to water, how much water, how often water, sunlight or no, how long to rooting/ transplant
@ncfruitgrower3 жыл бұрын
Rooting plants need mist, growing plants about 1 inch a week in full sun. Rooting take about 3 months, but wait to transplant until root balls are about the size of a golf ball. Thanks for your input

Lower level. If you mean closer to the ground, I have rooted on the ground. If you mean having the mulch less than 5 inches, they should. Just remember the roots need room to grow. The less soil, the more the roots will grow together.
