You need a dibbler so you can punch all the holes in one push. Johnny's has a 72 cell plug popper that works for 72 cell trays, but you'd probably have to make a 50 for your trays.

Some things most home growers hoped to learn: how to water, how much water, how often water, sunlight or no, how long to rooting/ transplant
@ncfruitgrower3 жыл бұрын
Rooting plants need mist, growing plants about 1 inch a week in full sun. Rooting take about 3 months, but wait to transplant until root balls are about the size of a golf ball. Thanks for your input

Great video, thank you. Please tell me, for a successful rooting process is the presence of the greenhouse is required? Another question: What flow rate on the sprinklers. Thank you.

Love your mister system. Would like to know more about it. Does your water source come directly from your Spigot?. What kind of PSI does this mister need? What are your bed dimensions? Is that 2 X 6s? How tall are the PVC pipes going up? and how long are the ones going out? Thanks
@ncfruitgrower8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching our video. Our water source is County water. We hook up directly to the spigot, psi is what ever the county provides, however we open the spigot 1/4th turn. This bed is 2'x8'x6". Keep your nozzles about 36" above the cuttings. The position of the nozzles depend on the width of your box, nozzles in the middle. Hope this helps. I will be posting a "How to build your misting system" video this summer. Again Thanks for watching. James Matthews

Hi. Please tell me, does the humidity level affect the rooting process? The fact that I put the cuttings from last year's shoots in early March, the PH of the water is stable 5,0, the air temperature during the day 25-30 C Celsius at night 16-20 C. after 4 weeks, small leaves began to germinate, some even had shoots 4-5 cm long, the end of may all the leaves died. Cuttings continue to remain green and not rooted. Irrigation is done with sprinklers 40 l/h, every 8 minutes, throws for 10 seconds. All this happens in the open field where the humidity during the day at the level of 30-35%.

Does it help to not pull some leaves at the tip of each cutting when you are getting multiple cutting from 1 branch ?
@ncfruitgrower8 жыл бұрын
I have tried several ways rooting. The cutting has to get water through the skin and cut in the soil. It seems when I leave a small leaf on the tip, they do better. I think this helps with holding water. I do get multiple cutting from one branch, sometime 3 or 4, but I separate them and only put one shoot per hole for rooting. Thanks for watching our videos.
@lesliegrayson17227 жыл бұрын
I like his style :) lightly round up, I think you could use a harsh nitrogen as well that would kill the weeds and be good for the blue berries later but I wouldn't know how much, I suppose I will find out though :) wood chips are what the pros use.
@ncfruitgrower9 жыл бұрын
Go to mistkits.com. The DIG 5006-IP may be the answer for your timer needs. You will have to purchase a valve, but a 10 second on time every 10 minutes should work fine for rooting Blueberries.

Monsanto was just recently successfully prosecuted for their use of roundup and their repeated denial of its harmful effects and deliberate misdirection of governments and people asking questions. So not, its not great, it causes cancer and its now a fact in the eyes of the law.
