If they made it striker lance instead of adapt style it would've been so much better

Hi, Nova. I guess I'm an OG. I grew up playing the original MH on PS2. Loving every seconds of it, then trying so hard to get my hands on every other released MH titles. Played the Japanese release, thanks to that I now speak japanese. Dealing with emulators, patches, translations, etc with far from good internet connection. All those effort just bcs I want to play more Monster Hunter. The struggle was real as a student with no much money. I think many newer players who started on World or Rise who end up being part of the toxicity just misunderstood Monster Hunter. Me personaly always think that every Monster Hunter release isn't comparable because they give different experience. Especially if they have different gameplay/mechanic. Even if it has the exact same gameplay/mechanic just different monsters, it's still new experience, just like dlc. I still play older MH games from time to time when I miss a certain things from them. And everytime, it just reminds me how even the outdated game is still irreplaceable. So this World vs Rise thing is always a weird thing for me. Not blaming them players. Bcs in the end of the day, they just expressed how much they love their choice of game. Many of World players aren't really a 'Monster Hunter' fans. They just happened to play World as their first MH game. Nonetheless, they love World for what it is. And I understand why they don't like Rise or think it's inferior. Because World is just that different of a game. Rise is more like a modern day mhp3rd and kinda stepping 'sideaway' after what they did with World. But that's exactly the point. It's a different game. I can't even come up with conclusion for which one is better. To me, it's not even a valid question. Rise is not World1.5. Both are different game. I think people failed to understand this. and I just want to point it out. Comparing them doesn't make any sense. Thank you.

i really enjoyed Gunlance in the demo and honestly my only challenge was adapting to The weapon since rise being my first game in the franchise theres was always this thought in the back of my mind if i just wasnt interested in such a huge change for the weapon and go for something else, im truly gonna miss busted Reverse blast and blast dash from Sunbreak some of the biggest additions to the GL not making a return almost turned me away from the weapon. Loved your insight on the weapon bro, spoke your mind out there honestly i wish i had some feedback for the weapon but its already been said about charged shelling i haven't used it at all since the beta its nice that it helps fill wyvern cannon but ill have to see what wide and long shelling are capable of not much feedback for me its just been all about adapting to the weapon. Much luv brotha you gotta have me as some kinda guest star for a GL talk or sum lol

Wilds gunlance is somethink i very much wished for to be, like its perfect in any way. charged shells are finaly ussable on any shelling, now have lots of combos that are actual combos not spaming only full burst non stop or poke shelling. And most importand for me is shield is now actual part of gunlance and not just addiditon and for that bad addition as in world/rise dodging was so much better then blocking but now with as well perfect block its actualy so much better and more enjoyable way of playing gunlance. and lastly most importand for me part is mele stuff is bad compared to any shell wyrmstacke or wyern fire, how much i was mad that world gunlance best playstyle was slaplance is unspeakable i realy love that gun part is finaly more importand then lance one. Only bad i can say about gunlance is focus strike is bad compared to rest of weapons. bad range low dmg and hard to hit place you aiming, if sucesfull focus strike would reload one your wyvern fire and all shells including wyrmstake it would be so much better and rewording, but for now prefer give wounds to other teamates in hunt that can get more use from focus strike :p

5:30 I'm gonna be a little bit mean here and say that commenter was just having a skill issue. Being sent upwards at the end of the perfect rush is way better since it allows for far more varied decision making than the thrust. Falling slash for good mounting damage and a strong severing attack, Plunging thrust for a faster falling severing attack that deals multiple hits of damage and is great for making wounds and building up status, Falling bash for a blunt attack and to get back down to the ground asap, or if timed careful, actually used to evade upwards slightly to dodge an attack or delay when your hit arrives on the ground to ensure it connects with you target. Also, you were able to turn around during your normal combo, you just needed to go into focus mode for a second to do so. Being able to turn alongside being able to control how far you step with each move depending on how long you hold the attack button made for some extremely fluid gameplay with a surprisingly high skill ceiling. It seems as though in Wilds the reall difference between a skilled and unskilled SnS user will be the precision of their footwork. I also really don't know what this person is on with other weapons being more versatile. I get ranged weapons sure, but those are their own category. The SnS still is and will always be the most versatile melee weapon with the quick and easy access to both types physical damage. Being able to cut tails and then turning around to slap the monster for KO/Exhaust damage without missing a beat is huge. Sure you can switch weapons, but that still takes time. As in, most of a topple worth of time.

tbh I wasn't really feeling it too much with Wilds in the demo with any weapon I tried initially. Up until I started fighting Rey Dau. Then everything started to click. So yeah, I think it really was way less that the SnS wasn't that great so much as that we got three tutorial tier monsters to fight and one mid-game wall. So progression was waaaay off balance and that made everything feel a little awkward.

12:41 this guy represents me already. Slaplance should've not been as powerful as it was if they did things correctly in world/inceborne, but they made shelling suck ass to the point that only wyvern stake was worth it but after the wide sweep, and this last being the most effective move in the weapon's kit. In rise I think they did a better job with gunlance; blast dash, reverse blast dash, wyvern blast cannon, gunlance just had more of the gun aspect, which was supposed to be what separated it from the lance.

The charged shelling probably isn't something I'll be doing much unless I do wide shelling. However, did anyone else notice if the charged shelling gave you more refill on the Wyvernfire shots compared to fullblast? I feel like it did.
@itsyaboiguzmaКүн бұрын
Yes charged shelling does fill the wyvernfire gauge faster than bursting or poke shelling. 2 full charged salvos would restore 1 wyvernfire charge

I still like Rise/Sunbreak GL over Wilds GL Aint nothing in the Beta comparable to the blast dash in base Rise. Then the wonderful additions of reverse blast dash, erupting cannon and bullet barrage took it over the top in Sunbreak, especially segmenting it as the best iteration of the GL we've had to this day. Again, there are a lot of additions that have improved the world version of the GL in Wilds, a lot of them I didn't see coming like the double extended wyverns fire, the smooth shelling movement or the vertical full blasts. Along of course with all of the QoL improvements that are mentioned in this video. Of course I will still put over 400hrs into my FAVORITE weapon and enjoy every single second of it but of course I wont be putting this iteration of the GL in peak category any time soon.

Let's pray you can customize the moveset in the full game or a dlc, blast dash is the only thing I preferred in rise over world

Wyrmstake Full Blast literally has Wyrmstake in the name. It's be weird if you _didn't_ use the Wyrmstake as part of it. It and it's combo into Wyvern's Fire are Gunlance's strongest DPS options, of course it's high commitment. I don't think you should be able to cancel it. Same with Wyvern's Fire not having a guard, with how strong it is offensively now, it shouldn't also be very safe.
@NovaBushidoКүн бұрын
That's a fair point!
@Clever_CalciferКүн бұрын
I 100% agree with you and I think I didn't explain myself well enough. What I wanted to point out here was the fact that I wished to extend the combo for a bit longer, perhaps using both of the full blast follow ups back to back before getting to the wyrmstake, essentially leaving it to be the last hit of the entire combo. As you might be aware, after the wyrmstake you can quick reload into another full blast and keep the combo continuedly going, I don't like this simply because I don't like the Wyrmstake cannon as a move. I had hoped that we would be able to do the vertical full blast into quick reload and full blast again as an infinite combo until the player decided to end the combo with something like a new lance attack or simply the wyrmstake cannon. Also I didn't mean for it to come off as me wanting to cancel it, I just didn't like that the move goes off without any input from the player and I still wholeheartedly believe that the player should have a say in how and when to end the combo. Still, Erupting Cannon > Wyrmstake Cannon everyday!

I agree that shelling should use up sharpness. I was under the impression that it was using up sharpness in the beta albeit a heavily reduced amount compared to previous games. If it isn't using any, that does need to be fixed.

Mel Shot is S tier and probably the best PvP elite for ranger, the most well rounded. Partially low cooldown, cheap, fast shooting and strong effect (potentially applying two conditions and doing damage). You won't find a better elite for most PvP scenarios. Keep in mind how cheap it is, compared to Burning, Magebane or Crippling shots that make automatically your build heavier and two of those are easily rupted.
@NovaBushidoКүн бұрын
Good point, for PvP that is super strong, it's only 5 energy and the cooldown is pretty low, so keeping that pressure up shouldn't be a problem.

Rise's Strength Hammer got me into the series. I mostly liked the changes, but was devestated to find that Step-Smash, the gapclosing level 3 option when Strength Mode was active had been removed. It was such a beautiful move because although it was a lesser reward than perfect positioning for a Brutal Big Bang, it still allowed for a worthwile cash-in for the investment into a Level 3 Charge
@samfish25502 күн бұрын
I can agree with low oomph. TBH lance I think I liked as much as I did because I don't really go into Lance for oomph and the lance perfect guard boop added a nice little oomph enough to satisfy me.
