I too romanticized African people/communities etc, with different eyes as a person from the Caribbean. I was saddened. The country I visited made me feel so sad. Most of the businesses and activities were ran and controlled by nonAfricans. I felt really sad seeing this. It seems like a total recolonization. I decided that this environment was not for me. Well as a proud African I am not surprised by our fellow blacks returning back to America or Europe because they were told Africa is a dark Continent for black Diasporas but not dark for White settlers so many blacks believe this narrative but, I also realized that most of the returns are only done by our black Diasporas. You hardly heard white coming to Africa and go back to America or Europe because they can't fit in a community. This is only done by blacks but my advice to my fellow is that Africa for centuries was colonized the same way as your ancestors were slaves. In most cases it is hard to just move aboard for the first time and be able to stay forever and make it... you should have visited access the ground have an idea about the cost of living and doing business there -- i think your planning was poor especially that you had a limited capital --- but good try!
