Does the arrow "go with the flow" & face the firewall/passenger side?? Or toward the front? I've Googled it & some replies in Dodge forums say both!! I replaced mine cuz it broke, pointed it toward firewall, & still have no heat. So probably bad heater core. But just curious about the arrow on the part.

I had to replace my heater core.

From the firewall into the underhood heating pipes. The purpose of the valve is to reduce backflow into the heater core which (in addition to whatever fluid-flow problems caused by that) can give a undesired flowing water noise in the cabin where the heater core is located.

This is totally unnecessary; i just did this today, you don’t need to remove the windshield wiper assembly or any of that. Just reach in there behind the engine with pliers and unclamp the clamps and then put in the new one. It’s not that hard. You can reach them with moderate difficulty, but it’s way better than removing all that stuff and putting it back… Not to mention you didn’t show anything any actual work being done just explained stuff
