no wonder the game was somewhat similar to god eater. i remember playing the old god eater games and had fun with them, and when i first saw code vein, in my mind it was literally god eater but soul-like style. overall, the game is fun

Bandai really should give Shift the support they need to make sure the inevitable sequel is as refined as it should be, perhaps by consulting associates in FromSoft.

I dropped the game at the church level, there was a difficulty spike there for me and the performance was tanking a bit on my laptop, but I didn't have much of an issue with the samey look. This was my first souls like (proper) and I enjoyed what I've played, will definetly return to it at some point; when I get a better pc :)

3:19 They didn't remove the unique skills from the DLC personas. They still have the same Drive +75% damage passive skills as in the base game. Unless I'm missing something?

There is no ifs, ands or buts, it’s not worth it. It’s a pure moneygrab and something that should of been there on release for perfectly free.

I knew of God Eater because my friend used to have one in his PSP and he used to play it a lot during our community get togethers

My biggest complaint is that Episode Aigis was really good whenever they did story, but it was very scattered between a disproportionate amount of going through the dungeons. There's also some potential at getting soft locked that I won't get into due to it being spoilers for when the DLC hits the best parts. The new songs writen for aigis are amazing and express how she feels throughout the entire episode, and the subject matter that is expressed in the episode is very very good, but if you really didn't like the tartarus portions of reload then the episode is like 95% not for you. If you did like them tho it is probably going to be enjoyable or if you go into it thinking it's much closer to an SMT style game over a persona style one due to what you said in the video of being able to come and go as the player pleases.

The thing is, it's all optional. The mitamas don't matter. Without the mitamas menu, the game still feels good. The extra demons don't matter. Without them, you still get 40 more demons with this version over then other. The game is great, I just wouldn't spend money on the dlc. The game is complete without them, perfect even.

It’s an interesting question why this became a thing in jrpgs. Personally, I don’t find that it adds to immersion. I find myself more attached to voiced characters like Geralt or Commander Shepard than the P3-5 protagonists, who I find totally forgettable. It also makes it kind of inexplicable why, in the story, all these intelligent and often older or adult characters treat the MC with some kind of special regard, when all he can do is grunt and nod. If we’re moving away from silent protagonists, could we also move away from the prepubescent boys? Could we get a main character with an athletic background for once, maybe with some muscle tone and a jaw line? I often find myself in jrpgs wishing the protagonist was one of the best friend or support characters who seem more fit for the job (would have preferred playing as Akihiko in P3 for example.)

It’s a good game. It’s just not a Final Fantasy Game

The game is a surface level JRPG. Upgrades don’t matter, there’s no elemental resistances or affinities, all of the staple FF mechanics are missing, and the side quests bog the game down. You’ll see why people complained, I got almost halfway through playing and stopped. Huge disappointment in the series

Didnt even use bowl of hygeia with sakuya the fact that she is an idun that can heal mp made her so insaneky usefull as long as you feed her some somas here and there she can pretty much give infinite mp to the rest of the party
