This lens is quite tiny and solidly constructed. The aperture ring and focusing ring are really smooth. When the aperture is fully open, the bokeh is beautiful. At f1.8, the sharpness is already not bad. From my one-year personal experience, the sharpness is adequate. As for purple fringing, it basically doesn't matter when taking pictures of people. The main impact is in street photography, but just close down the aperture a little and it'll be okay. It's very cost-efficient.

If you watch the classic, The Cranes Are Flying, the format is about 1/1.33. Some of the filming has a moving, sweeping camera. It's obvious he's using an ultra wide, but because of the format, with these older lenses that aren't rectilinear, the natural crop, which is close to what television was, the distorted sides, and any lens limitations like aberration or softness is automatically cropped off. It's a win win situation. And it allows the operator a great depth of field when the lens is stopped down to f5.6 and the camera can then just fly. As it definitely seems to do in that film. l watched the television production The Comedian, a Rod Sterling script with Mickey Rooney. It was shot live. No matter what the actors do, it's always in focus. Same situation. In that 1/1.33 format. That's what I want to try on this lens. I know people love to put these babies on drones, but after I get the inheritance...

i have a newer 2022 CBR500R and I've had a weird issue with the oil not fully draining into the window, so checking the oil level is sometimes a hassle and almost impossible to do on my own. i cannot check my oil when the bike is cold, i have to run it and ride it for atleast 20min. ive done about 2 oil changes since ive had it and ive put 5k miles on it, so its at 10k miles now.
