You included the decoy welder in the defensive welder group that gets turned off if enemy isn't in range. You use & weld a new decoys before they get in range, so you might want to remove that welder from the group. I've seen people use timers to delay one rail gun in a turret so they're not both firing at the same time. If the enemy dodges one shot (and they fire at the same time) they dodged both, but if one is delayed by a second or two, there's a greater chance one shot might hit it's mark. This may have been covered/tried before, but would a bit of Gyro override help reduce/stop the drift that's been happening? You could use an Event Controller to turn on the beacon & antenna whenever the drone is launched and turn off when the drone is docked again. Then you wouldn't have to remember to always turn them on/off, unless there's other conditions that you'd want them active for. Since you have so much H2, you could also use an Event Controller to turn on the H2 engines after using a Jump Drive, and then shut them off again when batteries are charged up to whatever level you want to configure it for.

No worries on the video length. It may be short compared to the normal length you do, but it was still a quality video. Turning a game crash into "nightmare footage" was a neat twist. I too, was surprised to learn you could syphon from a Neutral, too bad they didn't have anything really worth taking. Thanks for the upload, it was still worth the watch time.

Are you guy playing with progression and by any chance some welders are owned by nobody? Another case can be a typical bug where a BP needs to be loaded again into the projector. But this bug usually won't let you weld any block
@MozoTyce1

CoDo was mentioning something about not having an O2 supply without ice... Alien Planet has very low O2 (not None)... so you can set up a vent to depressurize into a tank and it will very slowly draw a little bit of O2 from the atmosphere. It will likely take 3-4 vents to keep up with the needs of 2 players, similar to how multiple O2 farms are required per person in space. Setting one/some up on your ships can do the same for the cockpit. I strongly dislike bases/outposts like that... buried and requiring much effort, only to be void of anything of real value. The "missing" conveyor block could very well be a result of the printer piston moving too fast (you did stop it to move it slower manually) and the welding wall just couldn't get it, rather than it being a blueprint error. The other missing blocks on the outside in the same area of the ship kinda lean towards that theory. Expanding the base ship lengthwise after expanding to the sides sounds like a reasonable idea. Happy New Year!
@MichaelArlt
@MichaelArlt 10 күн бұрын
Mozo has a vent on depressurize on his flatmo ship. Also one vent should be sufficient to fill up an o2 tank for more than one person. Vents suck up way more o2 than the oxygen farm is able to produce. Nevertheless a good advice regardless
@MozoTyce1
@MozoTyce1 10 күн бұрын
Thanks Chad, yes vents would work that's something we need to address. Shame about that buried poi, i wonder if we were just unlucky with it being on a steep slope ? Maybe normally it wouldn't be so buried ? I have to concede that although there was a block missing i originally filled the hydrogen from the small connector on the rear, it's possible that the cockpit was never connected to the rest of the ship ?? *"Go big or go home"* comes to mind - i think i'll talk 'CoDo' {love that !} into moving the drill back to make a bigger hangar ?! 🤣 Happy 2025 to you and yours also, thanks for all the great ideas/comments so far, i look forward to more 👍

I was full of hope after that first Leeroy Jenkins Maneuver, alas going to have to figure out some other way of dealing with those mines. I was a little sidetracked watching, so didn't see exactly what was up with the gravity sensors, but how I set mine up was inside sensor triggers timer 1, which turns on gravity and stops timer 2. Outside of sensor starts timer 2, which turns off gravity after XX delay. Also must compliment you of the decoy launcher, the reliability of the mechanism and your calm approach to launching really does show in the consistently successful outcome.
@MozoTyce1
@MozoTyce1 13 күн бұрын
Yup me too, after the first one i was thinking "*Yay magnesium"*, my hopes were soon *dashed* ! I think i ended up with the sensors pretty much like that, leaving a field starts a timer that switches off the grav gen. Entering the field stops the timer and switches on the grav gen. Therefore transiting from field to field keeps it on. My only issue was i had "Detect neutrals" on and my second camera (character) although logged off, was holding the sensor on.

I'm trying to recall why you're wanting to turn the grav gens on/off via sensors. Power system can't support the power draw, or was there something else that they couldn't just stay powered on? Bummer that you only got the red magnesium, I think you referred to it as Iron, I know you wanted the good stuff. Ah well, maybe next pirate or derelict crash.
@MozoTyce1
@MozoTyce1 14 күн бұрын
The grav gen thing is purely for power saving when i'm not on the ship. I did put a quick message in the edit, it was not working because i have a second character sitting in the back of the ship which, although logged off, still counts for the sensor. Lol Red Mg if only !!

With the restrictions of this scenario, you might actually get back home before you get more than just a couple little scraps of Magnesium. I'm putting in an advance request for you to port the ship into the next series somehow, and outfit her proper. With the ability to acquire resources as needed, I'd love to see all your defenses working in concert to take out an enemy ship. Pistons pushing out a Dumb Drill Torpedo (DDT) can't offset your forward speed, but simply turn it into the equivalent of the slow car in the fast lane (especially when you're moving 80+ m/s). One idea that "on paper" seems like it might work, and that is to have a small H2 tank, a thruster, a gyro, and an AI block that sets the torpedo in motion towards the enemy. Once it gets up to speed, it then disconnects (I'm thinking unlocking a mag plate rather than merge block) to let the "invisible payload" continue on to the target. A bit more costly to build, but if you're not starving for key resources, it sure seems like it could be more effective. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you & your loved ones.
@MozoTyce1
@MozoTyce1 20 күн бұрын
Thanks Chad, *"slow car in the fast lane"* a wonderful description 😃 I'm actually not sure what i'll be doing in the next series yet, i have a few ideas though ! Given that i'll be flying in a straight line with the enemy right behind me i figure there's no need for complicated setups, the missile has the thruster on full override **if** i can find a little Mg i'm hopeful if it hits it will do good damage ? Thanks for the seasons wishes, i hope you and yours have a wonderful time too.

You are a very brave soul, Mozo! While about 7 km away from you, you tore a HUGE hole in the rear of your ship, and you weren't moving. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH!!!! Question: is the nose of your "dumb missile" (rocket?) made of heavy armor, I hope? I have a suggestion: park your ship with a GPS marker and take out the little yellow ship to scout around for maydays. If you do commit, send the ship out for some reconnaissance, perhaps just 10km radius from your mothership. you may just find some good stuff out there with magnesium. We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. May all of your dreams come true, and may God bless you both abundantly.

Hehe, Mozo Daredevil 😉 Yes the missile has a heavy armor nose and you're right maybe it should be called a *rocket* ? I agree a 10km sweep might reveal more potential but Reavers can spawn and move quickly, i'd be fearful that i could not get back to my ship in time ! Thank you for the good wishes, i hope you all have a wonderful time this Xmas season and beyond too 😃

Good stuff Mozo. If you need magnesium and don't mind a little piracy, sometimes the mining class trade ships have some ore in their cargo hold, if you can dock a ship to them and set your connector to collect, some of it may 'accidentally' end up in your cargo hold. Anyways, convenient to see one of those RS1217's, I currently have one sitting 30km off my starboard bow, so got the inside knowledge. Season greeting and all that malarky 🎄🎄🎄
