I totally get the comment Nicholas made about being 2 miles away and still feeling like you are at Castle Howard, totally love the whole place.

What a beautiful tone... what is the orange wall colour? Where can I find that paint? Or, rather what exactly should I search?

I see the Earl being so gracious acknowledging all the beauty, meaning, and resonance around him. I deeply respect how reverent, humble and deferent he is as an inheritant. But I also hear his loneliness. I imagine it's a very difficult exclusion to try and thrive in a present that always reminds you of so many years of expectant continuity. He mentions this that in he is just sort of temporary, yet in that diminutive state is the tremendous pressure to not fuck it up. I think a lot of us lack due sympathy for how difficult and what an obligation that is.

Like the last grain of sand about to fall into the hour glass, we look to the curators for salvation and protection of what once was and will never be. Save the past as much as you can. Hopefully oneday a new generation will come to understand that past, present and future are one in the same. Thank you for the memories of my family and friends that once where and are now not. Yes, objects do hold history for a reason.

So much care and patience in all this work. So glad there are people who can do it. Had a week in Venice in 2009 and have never forgotten it.

Thank you! The tiles on the floors and walls are magnificent! Do you know the Ca' Rezzonico? Famous composer Cole Porter from my hometown, Peru, Indiana, used to rent it in the 1920's and had fabulous parties there. Wish I could see Venice again. It's been a long time.

I often tell my Japanese wife; combine Chanel or any other top brand with folk or native gear. I call it ethnic chic.

I got my issue today. I am so appreciative of all the details: not just the beautiful cover, but also the sides (not sure of the correct terminology). Without mentioning the content, the last 3 issues have been works of art. Bravo!

Castle Howard designed by Sir John Vanbrugh who brought English Baroque style to culmination. Years later he designed Blenheim Palace, the home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, which is the greatest palace of Britain.
