Frazier is the most overrated champion in boxing history. Lost 2 of 3 to Ali, lost both to Foreman. Aside from beating a 2nd tier Quarry and Bonavena who did he fight? No Norton, Lyle, Shavers, Young, Holmes. None of the greatest fighters of that era. The Ali upset is what made his undeserved reputation.

Ringo had trouble staying in shape, he only worked out the bare minimum. But he was still a beast in the Ring. His awkward style gave Ali and Frazier a lot of trouble.

Eddie almost went the distance, if he had gone the full distance without KO’D, almost most people would stand any chance against the smoking-steel Joe Frazier

This fight was where Holmes won the WBC title. Norton was given the belt because Leon Spinks fought Ali in a rematch. WBC said no and gave the title to Norton. Get your facts correct.

Overall could have done with a bit more action and less time spent doing nothing while in each other’s arms. Frazier must use a lot of energy repeatedly throwing wild lefts with none of them making contact.

That was when boxing was boxing. Guys today could never go 15 rounds lol and in some of the environments and conditions those had to fight in, crazy... boxers today are spoiled.

1966 Eddie was a little over the hill here. And it still took Joe Frazier 10 rounds to stop him. 5 or 6 years earlier it might of been a different story

I'm doing a mini documentary on "Smokin" Joe Frazier for The SC Hall of Fame. What a champion. He was tough! I can't stop watching his films. He didn't get the recognition he deserved. I am proud to remind people of Joe Frazier's legacy and greatness.

At the end Ali could have dsstroyed him he was defenseless. But he didn't. Lot of class and loyalty by the Champ.
@mustafaatalay21213 күн бұрын
unlike holmes he was so loyalty guy that he didn't attempt to beat ellis up within 2 3 raund, holmes didn't show a scrap of mercy.

You know why I love this commentary; The man reports exactly what transpires in this bout, unlike today where they have a conversation about rubbish. He is only on his own doing this, his the type to continue this style of reporting for 15 rounds.

Ali did great in this fight. I'm tired of hearing this dick of an announcer constantly criticizing Ali. I don't know what fight he was watching, because Muhammad Ali appeared very dominant by my observation.
