Only weird thing I see is lots of other people put the top of the boot over a shingle. You put the top of the boot over the underlayment. Does that really matter? Are there any building codes to reference on boot installation and layering over tiles?

You said exactly what i was thinking.... Now these 2 courses are basically glued together and not independent of each other. I would be concerned with contraction and expansion issues with the 2?

Does not look so good , rusty metal will not last as long as the roof. Wait a 30 year roof only last 15-20 perhaps it will unless there are other mistakes and omissions to cut the roof life short .

You used a pencil on unprotected aluminum!? That's so wrong, nobody told you what that does over time. The pencil is going to each through the aluminum. It's wise not to use pencil even on painted aluminum because paint layers are so thin the ions still transfer through to the metal. Glad that's not my fascia work.

Perfect video - your approach is rock solid. Do you have any idea on how to do step flashing on a sidewall that has existing STUCCO on it? Just can't figure out a great way to make it water tight - not even sure if you can grind a thin channel into it and put in some counter flashing into the groove...

Do you not need step flashing all way down? Or was there step flashing further down?

Nice repair, also recommend leaving a water channel at all pipes& step flashings so dirt will flow down and not dam in future.

Bro am I smokin crack or do u have ur valley started backwards . I was taught to weave in bottom 2 rows. Then run ur lowest pitch roof , smaller roof , then run ur cut side , bigger steeper roof last
@STapia-hf7vp13 күн бұрын
Start like you always do, off the left side so you can use the gun to gauge and staple like no tomorrow. When you get to the valley just cut material so you are about one and a half to two tabs away from valley. Keep slot out of valley.

So this video is 2 years old and ya mentioned that you increased the rate to $400 . Well today’s December 17 , 2024 and how much is your 15 yard dump fee ? I have a 20’x6 x4 landscaping trailer w steel expanded metal walls & it’s not a dump trailer but I’d like to see what ya think would be a reasonable and profitable rate to charge ? I live in San Antonio and I also own my Duramax truck and the trailer.

Brother theres many problems with tht install that underlayment should be ice and water due to the pitch the pioe boot should have ice n water on top of it and the shingle above it shoukd have a groove cut into it only leaving a 1/4 inch gap around the boot those top corners on that boot is way to exposed
@Unusual_Steeze25 күн бұрын
what was the reason you didnt put ice/water shield all the way to the top I think I missed you explaining that
