Glad to see you making vids again! I use Docket's online booking and love it for many reasons. I have a video in the queue explaining why I recommend online booking to even the small guys.

I had a random question! Why does everyone in the roll off business try to stay under CDL A? I have mine & was looking into getting a trailer with a larger GVWR because of so. I just wanted some insight on why. If you could help with answering that I’d appreciate it! Thanks

Everyone has different reasons for staying under CDL. Your goals in the business and what your market wants will usually make this decision for you. For our business and the dumpster sizes we haul it is not neccessary and our dumpsters are never over wieght. The only reason we would need CDL trucks would be to haul dirt, concrete, and 40 yard containers. We could easily run 30 yard containers for most jobs and still stay under CDL. If you have a CDL and think you should use it for this business go for it! Hope this answers your questions! Thanks for watching

@@Lifes_Apprentice Yeah, I’m wanting to haul dirt, concrete, & SOD. Most people in my area aren’t doing so, so I’m looking at it as an opportunity to create/disrupt the market. Thanks man!

Id say its mainly to save money. A CDL adds alot more cost. New individuals have to take mandatory Entry Level Driver Training from a certified school whichbcan cost $4k-$12k. CDL requires medical exam and most definitely need USDOT numbers and maybe MC number if they haul more than garbage and refuse. Class 7 trucks have a 12% excise tax ontop of sales tax. CDL will have to keep drivers and maintenance logs along with annual safety inspection. Fines and insurance are all higher for CDL setups.

@@jacobmiller4928 These are all true and depending on your state some of these things are required for under CDL trucks too because of USDOT. In genereal under CDL is cheaper and less hassle.
