I think the problem with the look a like is when they do pranks and make fans believe that they are the real artists which I don't like. The only fans content as a celebrity look a like is crossing the line too. I don't know I just wonder sometimes if they entire job is to be that person I wonder if sometimes they can lose themselves and get the lines blurry between the personality of the celebrity and their own personality. And I also wonder how far that job they will last, is the public will always pay attention to them or eventually loss interest and what they will do after. if you ever consider looking deeper into this topic, there was a time in 2020 lockdown where there was a lookalike for Jennie from blackpink. people were following her, commenting on her posts, liking her photos and whatnot. but then it came forward that this person had completely faked the whole thing, and they were actually stealing photos from someone else and editing them to look like Jennie. they would caption posts with things like, “Please stop hating me, this is just my face. I love Jennie too but I’m not trying to be her.” but it was a fake persona with edited photos the whole time 😭

I was so excited for them to pop off into the mainstream, I found them right at the beginning and it seemed like the only way was up. Insane this happened.

I cant believe the amount of promotion they were doing on TikTok. 💀 TikTok isn't like a radio show or something- as mentioned, shre itll get you some attention but after a while, whos going to take you seriously? Youve gotta promote elsewhere as well. It's unfortunate.Also, a lot of the time, Westwrn GGs get compared to Kpop GGs but thats actually BAD- thats the wrong move because the markets and systems are completely different.

The problem is , you can’t debut an idol group in a country where idol culture doesn’t exist anymore. In the 90s and early 00s there was pandemonium over boy bands and girl groups and western companies don’t know how to reignite it. Idols shows, channels, variety, and music shows doesn’t exist in western countries. The idol culture doesn’t exist. Hopefully they realize this and get a syndicated channel dedicated to showcasing these newer groups who are trying to tap into that idol like music act

in middle school i was into 1d (still am of course lol) and saw them live, and as the years went on i continued to support them solo. let me tell you, seeing harry solo for the first time at age 16 when i was beginning to come to terms with who i was outside of the conservative framework i'd grown up in, and seeing the pride flags everywhere, seeing harry himself (someone i'd loved so strongly for so long) unashamedly wave flags and vocally support queer rights... it made me realize that maybe i could be something outside of the rigid expectations i had growing up, maybe the real me could be loved and celebrated. seeing him again at 19, wearing rainbow accessories in public for the first time since fully accepting my own queerness and hearing lights up (a song that tremendously shaped my self-perception) live, it actually healed something in me. i finally felt free. i have never cried more at a concert than i did at that one during fine line. it felt so safe. i will forever and always hold an incredibly special place in my heart and soul for everyone in one direction
