Thanks for my Costco shopping list ! Can that date syrup be used in coffee as a sweetener or would that be weird ?? I was surprised that tofu wasn’t on the list ! I’m definitely getting those oats..great deal !
@steamyvegan2 күн бұрын
You can absolutely use date syrup in coffee! It's not as sweet as sugar I find but still great. The tofu ALMOST made it to the list haha, it was really hard to narrow it to 10 items! But it's a very worthy honourable mention -- Love their tofu!
@cyndij83123 күн бұрын
Fun! Oodles of noodles! I don't shop at Costco because their quantities are just too big. But I wish the wholesale club I go to had those oats. They only have non-organic instant oats. I finally got those brown rice millet noodles. They are good but I don't like that they are made in China.

Thank you so much. We plan out a ton of videos like 6 months in advance and in December and January later this year I'll be doing a whole series of episodes to help any beginners to the plant-based diet. I do have this really old video that my hubby Brad and I filmed: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppymfJltbapko68 Hopefully this helps for now, but more to come soon!!! Thanks for your support!

Thanks, Janelle. The burgers look especially delicious and the dressing for the coleslaw.
@steamyvegan6 күн бұрын
Thanks Cyndi, yes this is definitely my new favourite coleslaw. A nice change from a classic coleslaw recipe. I'd say this burger recipe is my best followed by the crispy chickpea burgers I did a few weeks ago.
@cyndij83125 күн бұрын
@@steamyvegan my favorite coleslaw is Asian style! The recipe with a package of uncooked Ramen noodles. For the dressing, I don't use the seasoning packet and the oil is replaced with pineapple juice and a little sesame oil. If you want additional info, just let me know. If traditional coleslaw (agree it's not my favorite), a can of mandarin oranges or pineapple elevates it.

I find that doing skewers it always falls off on the grill, any tips to make it hold together better? <3
@steamyvegan6 күн бұрын
Great question! I like to put a piece of tofu on each end as the tofu stays on the skewer and acts like a stopper. I've also just used my toaster ovens air fry mode. If you have a smaller air fryer then you can also make mini skewers in there. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing Vancouver. It looks like a lot of fun. You looked adorable. Love the sundress and earrings. Side note. My brother-in-law is from Peterborough. He and my sister, who lived in Florida at the time, met on a plane from Mexico to Miami. My sister and mom were on vacation and mom chatted with him on the plane (he worked for Air Canada and traveled a lot on vacations) and the rest is history. They married in 1988 and are still together. After 8 years in Toronto, they moved to Florida in 1996. Yes, we're that old! Nice to see Brad. And the food at Mila! I want to make a pasta dish for the week and have mushrooms and Field Roast sausage!

Wow! Thanks again, Steamy Vegan. My absolute favorite sandwich as a carnivore was a BLT, so I've gotta try this for my upcoming birthday (I'm older than God). Maybe I can convery the carnivore missus with your recipe. I mentioned this on one of your other vids, but I'll say it again: I really appreciate that you put your recipes right here on the blog. It makes life easier. Side note: what really makes a good BLT is slicing up a farm fresh ripe tomato. They're hard to come buy these days. And of course, only iceberg lettuce will do, and two slices of designer sandwich bread toasted, NOT sourdough, which detracts from the bacon flavor. I've digressed; mea culpa. Have a good one.

I’m so glad you enjoy the recipes (and that they’re written below the videos). I do hope to become more consistent with posting recipes to my blog again but for now I’ll keep doing what I’m doing ☺️ Hope you try the vegan bacon 🥓 in a BLT soon, do report back!

All excellent ideas and recipes. I appreciate all the time you put into it. And varying the grains/starches and proteins. I've never tried Japanese sweet potatoes but I think I saw them at Sprouts. I used soy curls this week in white chili. It's just my second time using them and they take some time getting used to for me. I think your barbecue recipe would be a great way to have them. Disguise the spongy texture I think. The other recipe I used them in was a curried pasta salad with pineapple. Too funny about the garbage man! There are gloves to use when using a mandolin. Maybe that would be helpful. Or just don't grate that last little bit!
@steamyvegan13 күн бұрын
Yes definitely experiment with the soy curls, they’re very versatile in how you can cook them. And someone else told me about getting gloves for grating things - I think I should get them since I’m way too accident prone to be trusted with a box grater 😅

And whoaaa those butter chickpeas sound amazing and will be happening in our near future. BTW, I made your mocha overnight oats. We loved it! I omitted the cream topping and chocolate chips (as good as I bet they are) but your ratios are perfect. I used Dandy Blend for the "coffee" taste. Excellent for us non-coffee peeps.

I don't actually have a full recipe video for it on the channel yet, but here it is for you :) 2 cups jasmine rice, rinsed 2 cups canned coconut milk 1½ cups water or veg broth 1 thumb of ginger, minced/grated juice of 1 lime pinch of salt Combine all ingredients in a deep saucepan or pot and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce to low and cook for 25 to 30 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed. Fluff rice with a fork and serve. ENJOY! 😊
