Chinese garbage. More car makers in China now than in the US and Europe combined. They just come out of nowhere. Subsidized crap and money grabbing schemes (not grabbing consumers' money of course, no one buys this sh..., but investors' money; 90% will be bankrupt within 10 years) When a smartphone maker becomes an automaker, that is a trouble (we've already seen what happened to Le Eco) Just wait for a couple of years when this trash starts breaking apart and you will get real reviews of the quality of these cars

You get what you pay for, mr. Elliot If you think auto manufacturing is a profitable business, take a look at legacy automakers' balance sheets and income statements. Historic profit margin on BMW cars is 8-10%. This means it costs BMW $60,000 to make a car they sell you for $65-66K (as a comparison, it costs Apple $558 to make iPhone 15 Pro, which they sell for $999; so you do the math how profitable auto manufacturing is; in fact, most of them are deep in debt) My point is if you think this "affordable" prices come at the cost of a profit hit for these Chinese auto makers, think again. Remember that a lot of legacy manufacturers build their cars in China too (including German automakers). So it doesn't really lower their costs that much. If Chinese can make cars that look like a Mercedes outside but costs twice as less, there will be a ton of quality issues in them

Our American carmakers could easily make cars that are just as nice and, more importantly, just as cheap as these really great Chinese brands. But they won't due to insatiable greed and their addiction to really high profit margins. American corporations can't stomach the idea of lowering prices without passing the cost along to someone else. It can be the consumer, the employees, or maybe even the government if they allow it. Anyone other than THEMSELVES! Accepting lower profits is blasphemy in the eyes of Wall Street. It's un-American. I can hear their already super rich shareholders right now crying at the thought of deliberately accepting a slightly smaller payday (even though it might be what's actually best for the company in the long run).

Personally, I like the Mazda model, and the Toyota Crown. All else may look beautiful, but then again, as a Russian saying goes - They're a cat in a sack, meaning they may be full of unpleasant surprises in terms of quality, reliability, durability, serviceability, parts availability (especially across time), service availability (nobody knows how to work on them), and resale price. I'd rather stick to the tried and tested Japanese vehicles. It's an interesting review of an auto show. Thank you very much!
