Johannesburg CBD any street thats slightly out of view from maboneng is already dangerous. be very careful in the CBD, even south africans know the CBD is a no no. unless you with a group of friends and uber back together you will be fine. Safe places is Sandton, Melrose, four Ways.

I’m currently a full time solo traveler as well, and have been since 2020, so I resonate when it comes to missing what’s familiar, and just the overall convenience that America offers. I am currently in South Africa now and was soooo taken aback by your story. 😢 it really does make you think about these things, even for myself who has always felt so safe in SA. I’m so glad you’re well and following your heart when it comes to the next steps on your journey. Don't like these apartments. The staircase with no railing looks hazardous. All of the stone looks prison like. The third woman seemed just as cold as the unit she was showing. I would look for better.

What made you not get the three bedroom three bathroom apartment? Was it because of the air conditioner? but I do like this one day you’re moving out of it’s cool if you had a powder room downstairs for if you had any guest you know because I do love that terrace area because that’s where my guess would be spending the majority of their time but I just won’t want anyone to have to come up in my bedroom to use the bathroom, I don’t know I just always feel like my en suite was just for me but anyways I do. Love you.😊

I agree i wish it had a powder room on the first level for my guest. I didnt take the 3 bedroom mainly due to location. It was about 25 minutes away from the areas I tend to frequent and with me not having a car I wanted to be in a walkable area near shopping, my friends, and lots of restaurants. I wish I could've picked the apartment up and moved it lol it was so perfect inside

I have a cousin up there and he’s trying to get me to come up there but I’m a girl that likes to have fun because I’m originally from New York City but now I live in South Carolina and it’s real dull down here but I also thought I was gonna probably go to Columbia South Carolina maybe or either Myrtle Beach I’m still deciding because I’m in a hotel management so I do want to work where I’m happy but good luck on your endeavors😊

I hope someone who knows them get them since you are very loved in SA.🤨 I had a pickpocket experience in Dublin, Irland. 3 guys, and one of them was trying to get on my bookback and I fought for my life. I'm a 44 year old woman, but I lift heavy. lol😂 I said the same thing, you aint taking my bag with my passport heck nah... its either you or me. I almost k!lled him 😅 I'm glad you are ok.

I heard from a random video about safety issues in Maboneng,, Apparently, the developers had the vision and executed it, but the security issue caught them off guard. Just be picky with places to visit when you come back, We miss you already!
