Since there's no gutter on this home, the use of Drip edge is the problem here, as it is raising the shingle at the roof edge. Custom edge metal or Gutter apron would have been better, as both would have been bent to match the roof pitch

3/8" sheathing on a roof? Who thought that was a good idea?

Thanks brother, at last, I found a video with a simple explanation about the roof pitch. It is so easy how you explained it. For every 12 inches that run, it is 6 inches that rise. Thanks again

We just got two bundles of tamko for a repair. They came packaged wrong! The shingles were backwards and the sealant line was not hitting the cellophane. They literally were fused together bc of this manufacturing mistake and fell apart trying to separate them. Total junk haha

I'm a young carpenter just getting into it and just did my first roof recently. Your videos were immensely helpful, passed final inspection from the city with flying colors. Love your videos, they're very helpful for young people like me just getting into the trades.

If I want to work on my own roof, one story, two gables, 8/12 pitch, do I necessarily need fall arrest? I'll just make small repairs, check for leaks, loose nails and shingles and be mindful of swing fall, never going beyond the limit or getting close to the gutters.. Always wearing a harness, 5/8" rope grab with enough anchors about 12 feet apart or closer. I figure if I slip, I don't want the shock absorber to send me over the edge. Wouldn't that work?

Get a stand off for your ladder. Don't ever lean your ladder on the gutter.

You understand "damage' does not mean always covered. Your there to provide scope of damage and an estimate, not to give input of which you have no license, expertise or education on.

Why dont you refer to HAIG guidelines. Its not rocket science. Why are you asking the general public whether a claim should be covered or not. Stay in your lane and swing your nail gun, you appatently know very little about insurance policies and coverage.

I think the sheathing was damp during installation, that’s what caused nail to pop. Plain old silicone works just fine for reseal.

It’s a both problem. Pipe should of course be higher. But the roofer rather than slop some stuff around it, should have realised this is a problem I’m gonna call the plumber to rectify it first? Now it’s done, plumber is going to have extend that pipe ruining the alleged seal, then roofer will have to fix his mistake. An oversight from the plumber has been doubled down by the roofer who should have known better.
