Zerowater suck. Filter is slow, have to replace all the time and expensive. Worse of all, if you don't replace it near end if it's life it will make the water taste and smell fishy.

This is such a biased review. I get it, you’re sponsored and get paid to talk well about aquatru. This was intended to be a Bluevua review yet you made it a point to reference and compare it to aquatru is insane to me. Even when the Bluevua has an advantage by its glass carafe, you still manage to bring up aquatru in a different model. This review is a joke.

In the last 48 hours I have learned a LOT about water filtration and reverse osmosis systems. Some systems use proprietary filters, while other use industry standard size filters. Also if you are going to use a system that has a tank instead of tankless, then a permeate pump can greatly increase the efficiency of the system. Have you considered adding any RO systems that use industry size filters? I would preferably like some that come with the permeate pump.... but my understanding is that pump can be added to most non proprietary systems. One system I would love to see a review of is APEC Water Systems Ultimate RO-PERM because it is easy to get ahold of, I see you did review APEC ROES-50 Essence, so I am assuming results would be similar or better.
@boswater6065
@boswater6065 19 сағат бұрын
Like you said the APEC ROES-50 Essence is a system that we tested and that uses standard-sized filter cartridges. Of course, the benefit with these is that you could switch to other filter elements. However, in that case our lab testing also doesn't apply anymore. Also, even standard-sized filter elements can be shaped differently at their bottom and top so this is something to keep in mind. I've added the APEC RO-PERM to our list.

One thing that occurred to me just now, is that each of the systems you test, may periodically need new filters tested, in case one of these companies gets Better or WORSE filters down the road. Obviously you would not want to waste money unnecessarily but maybe a yearly follow up on previously tested units with replacement filters currently being sold. For now I will use the data you have shared to make the best decision that I can.

I actually had tears in my eyes after watching this video, it just made me very emotional which is unusual for me, kinda like when you see the Hero in a movie save the day against overwhelming odds. I don’t understand why a 75% (or around that) removal of nitrate is considered "good." Nitrate is harmful, even poisonous, so I would expect reverse osmosis to be much more effective at removing it. Shouldn't the removal rate be closer to 90% or higher, like how most other ro are removed at 100%?

🎉Thank you for giving the Clearly Filtered Pitcher its well deserved recognition!!! 🎉 It is truly the best, and removes the most contaminants by far. *Please note everyone, that this pitcher IS certified by the WQA, which in my opinion holds more value. ALSO, PLEASE NOTE: The pitcher was recently redesigned, so the lid 'issue' has been resolved, although I never found the original one to be a problem. Always great reviews! Would even be better if you could include RELIABILITY ratings. System performance is just one aspect, but real world usage requires that we understand how reliable the operation is, e.g. ease of maintenance, descaling effort per TDS levels, machine leakage and machine mysteriously stopping and associated ease to DIY troubleshoot and fix, etc.

We're planning to test shower filters but I doubt that they'll do much to reduce water hardness in the long run. Hardness minerals can be removed from water using ion exchange, but depending on how hard your water is, I'd expect a shower filter to run out of softening capacity really fast.

Currently have SimPure Y9T. Can't tell the difference in taste between Y9T RO Water and double distilled water with both tasting the same or tasteless. Y9T has 300 gallon per day flow rate. Fills up a glass quickly. Before drinking the RO water, flushed Y9T with 4 complete cycles of distilled water, followed by 2 cycles of tap water. Afterwards the water feed tank had no visible foam present, following the machines normal flushing cycle. Now just drinking the RO water from the Y9T and not drinking that much double distilled water. Occasionally add a drop or two of liquid iodine and sometimes a pinch of redmond real salt or sea salt to the RO water. Sure the water is not as pure as double distilled water, but close enough. 1st distillation takes 5-6 hours to distill a gallon of water and increases your electric bill. Whereas the RO water is almost instantly available with using very little electricity. Put a gallon of Y9T RO water in a Megahome counter top distiller. After the Y9T RO water was distilled, there was no residue left on the bottom of distillers tank. Interested to see BOS Water's thoughts of the SimPure Y9T, along with water lab test results.
