This absolutely made me a Lebron fan in ‘07. He then flopped and GMed his way to me souring on him completely. He just didn’t want to keep climbing that mountain without at least the two best sherpas around in any given year.

I would say numbers wise, Lebron is better. But, if there was 10 seconds or less in a game and who I would give the basketball to in that situation, it is Kobe all the way because he can beat you with the game on the line and has done it many times. Yes, Kobe took way too many shots, but he was by any measure, clearly a better clutch player than Lebron!

The 2007 Cavs were elite defensively. Not only that, Gibson won em Game 6. Gibson and Gooden were also awesome in Game 4. Those Cavs weren’t bums like the media portrays.

A small fact folks forget is that, in game 4, at the end of the first half, Samaki Walker “made” a shot at the buzzer, but the clock had already expired. Later, Horry’s shot gave them the 1-pt win, which wouldn’t have been possible without that earlier shot. Later, the NBA established the backboard lights to light at the end of quarters to help determine whether the ball was released on time.

Also, don't cry. Steve Nash deserved both MVPs. He basically was the catalyst to that 04-05 Suns team that went from 60 losses to 60 wins. And then, he was also the main cause of a very heavily injured Suns team that made it all the way to the Western Conference Final.
@justinr5989

It’s funny how when Starbury got replaced by JKidd the Nets went straight to the finals, and when Nash replaced him the Suns won 60+. Steph is a nice man, and certainly the product of his NYC environment upbringing (which caused him to ask out of MN), but he didn’t play that winning basketball.

So he doesn't want to mention in game 6 how Daniel Gibson save LeBron for scoring 31 points when LeBron struggled a little bit in that game..🤦🏾 if you're going to talk about the Detroit and cavaliers series at least talk about all six games not just five games 🙄 people that are young and that are kids that didn't experience to see that game.. talk about all six games... And for the younger generation Daniel Gibson went off in that game.... Just saw the cavaliers could go to the finals

His spot now is perfect for him. His experience lets him be the team leader he wanted to be, but didn't have the sheer dominance to be, and Luka treats him as an equal on the court. And the Dallas team culture is clearly just more accepting of his eccentricity.

I’m not gonna be the one to turn this into a goat debate, so that isn’t the point of my comment at all. But I think we all need to acknowledge how special you need to be to carry as many teams as LeBron has to the finals, regardless of win or loss. He’s beaten so many championship favorites to advance to the finals while his second best players were bonified role players. I think that should be something added onto his resume as well. So many of the all-time greats, top 5 caliber players, needed someone else to make it to the finals. Jordan, Kobe, Kareem, a bunch of amazing top 5 guys who needed help. Lebron was his own help, and that definitely gets undervalued a lot now. Edit: Everyones big on Ant this playoff run, so imagine he beat the Mavericks this year without Kat, Rudy, Jaden, or Naz. If it was JUST him and the role players the Timberwolves have. That’s what LeBron has done three times.
