He starts out by marking the symmetrical ball 6 3/4 down for a theoretical mass bias......why? Why 6 3/4? Ok.
@spectrebowling3 ай бұрын
Hi Steve. This is done on a symmetrical ball to get a spot on the equator of the ball. 6 3/4 is a quarter of the ball on the surface.

So the only way to know the pap is if the bowler knows what it is, and if they don't know what it is and you have them roll the ball on the lane and to find out what it is that does not mean that the person who drilled the ball actually drilled the pap to what they told the bowler or what you actually had measured on the lane, is that a fair statement?
@spectrebowling3 ай бұрын
Not sure I understand the question. PAP has to be measured on the lane, it is very hard to do this without having the bowler throw a ball down the lane. A bowler can know their PAP, however most bowlers won’t know it by heart. I recommend checking the bowlers PAP every couple of years for recurring customers. Hope this answers the question.

How do you determine a half cut and how is this done?
@spectrebowling3 ай бұрын
Hi Jimmy. It’s hard to describe over text. Basically you see if there is a bump on either side of the thumb joint. If your total thumb move is v.100/h.100. Then the half back cut v.100/.050. Basically adding a cut at the end, at the same height but half the horizontal movement. I’ll shoot a video about that. Thanks for the idea.

I like a round thumb hole. I know that my thumb is not round, but my thumb is flexible enough that it seems to adapt to the round hole, and I get a suction that I like. If it's too snug, I use a dab of Chap Stick on sides of joint and works perfect in getting out of ball. I also am a fan of a tapered thumb slug. Almost like a molded thumb. Keep it simple.

One note about the Storm Mix and Roto Grip RG: The Riser Pin is actually the center of the Puck/Top Weight, not the CG. So if you put the CG in the grip center the riser pin will act as a weight offset on the ball. You could then rotate the Pin/Top Weight around to produce static imbalance and thus create different ball dynamics on a small scale. If you want to have a fairly neutral balanced ball like a normal plastic ball with only a CG, then put the riser pin in the grip center instead of the CG and move the CG placement near where the ball track would be.

@spectrebowling6 ай бұрын
One of my favorite urethane balls!!! The ones i really liked I simply put the CG 1/2" positive side and 1/2" positive finger at the time. It has such a small bearing on what you can get out of ball motion. At the time, I had also tried the plastic ball layout that Mo Pinel had come up with for the PBA plastic ball championship, however that needs a weight hole and in today's standards can't be done anymore... and to be honest, I didn't like the reaction. Since the Armadillo ribs are marked in inches, I usually just use the the ribs to measure the distance from the PAP to the first oil line, subtract that distance from 13.5 (distance from PAP to NAP), then divide by 2 to get the arc distance across the NAP. ie: 8" distance from PAP to first oil line; 13.5 - 8 = 5.5"; 5.5 x 2 = 11" arc distance across the NAP.

What if the pap is on the midline? Say 4 3/4 over with no up or down? What does this mean?
@spectrebowling8 ай бұрын
PAP values are just that, there isn't anything to say about them. So in your case, you're simply 4 3/4 x 0. If you give that to any proshop, they should be good to go with any layout you'd request.

Take the one closest to the fingers and thumb. Follow that one all the way around to measure the tilt. If you place the ball track parallel to the counter top it will give you a good visual to if you drew the line correctly.

So please, how does one get out of bowling a full roller. Harder done than said I guess.....
@spectrebowling8 ай бұрын
Most of the time it's because you're turning the hand too early. I try to tell people to point their thumb to the ceiling at the top of the back swing, this will allow them to rotate the ball at release. If your hand is already on the side of the ball at release, the only way you can turn is the "opposite" direction, this is what causes the full-roll. A good at home exercise is to throw an american football underhand with a spiral, do a bit of pitch-and-catch with a friend and this will hopefully help your release.
@mariomicallef82668 ай бұрын
@@spectrebowling thanks, I'll try what you said and hopefully it all works out. Thanks again.
