I've listened to the entire album on Amazon so many ,many times and never tire of it. Even on a stormy Scottish winter night where I live on the north west coast it makes the wind whisper not roar

Grew-up there (Galicia), the first few minutes of bagpipes are fun...then after half an hour you want to slice your veins open, unbearably boring. By the way, Scottish sounds horrible, I guess to pair it well with the food...stay together with the English or is gonna be real pathetic.

Sounds just like Portuguese. My wife and I visited Portugal last year and it's home to a people I came to love. Does this music live in the sense that families or friends commonly make it when they get together or is it the province only of professional musician

An excellent version of the song but the information is wrong. It was not written by Murdo MacLeod but by Murdo Maclean who was my wife's grandfather. He did go to Montana but returned to Scotland to marry and settle in the Black Isle.

Fantastic reply - THANK YOU and my apologies, I see now from the score that it was my mistake in writing down the name. I'm glad to have corrected it in the description and to know that he returned to Scotland. Thanks again !

I love the Celtic languages, they are so unique in the way they sound. Very happy to see that not only do people still sing in the language, but speak and communicate in it as well.

Nice one ! I suspect you already know that "Puirt a beul" arrangements meant a few of the locals would get together to sing Strathspeys, Reels & Jigs so that the other villagers could have a dance in the absence of travelling musicians to their remote places. From first hand experience, you need a lot of breath control (and Gaelic fluency) to sing them !

Wow! That jam session at 7:48 made my heart sing. 💖 Unbelievably enjoyable to the ears. The emotions the music evokes are incredible. It must be an amazing experience to be part of that musical circle.

All the ladies were phenomenal but, in my opinion, Robyn Stapleton was absolutely sublime. What an exquisite voice! Her singing would make the angels jealous. Reminded me of my dear Mum's soprano voice when I was a lad.

I love hearing the two of them speak together. There are quite a few differences from Irish to Scottish Gaelic, just as the musical styles differ, but there are of course many similarities. And seemingly enough to where native speakers can, essentially, speak their own language together.
