I have to do daily stand ups with the team and no matter how hard I try, my voice gets shaky after the second sentence then I'm so nervous I run out of breath while speaking. So I always try to cut myself short, but sometimes I have more to say. It is very frustrating

I do not agree that saying that bothered you was a power move. How about it was empathic? Does he have to agree or disagree with Rogan or CNN to not be a "therapist"?? Rogan took offense to being told he was bothered by what CNN did, when in fact, he was.

I have listened to many of Reagans speeches. I remember listening to many at the time they were made . He often catches emotions of those who listen . Often with a line from a poem as he does here or with a quotation. He quotes quite a few times something said by Churchill . Something other successful or great speekers do .

People when they're hungry they will ignore integrity . This is long story for explanations. Everyone steal in their life even few times and some never stopped stealing until they die. Don't forget children they don't know what is integrity.

Hi Alex, thanks for the great content. Could you do a video demonstrating techniques to help think quickly on your feet during a Q & A or meeting etc?

Good idea. I've given that some thought. I might do it in the future.

I agree but at the same time it would be a creepy society if everybody would communicate like this when pushed. Now, I'm not talking about being aggressive. Some people just don't see boundaries and it's hard to make everyone understand. I might bother others as well so , in the end I think it's good to be aware, head up and make eye contact. Great advice anyway! Thank you!

I'm a newbie learning English and you're totally right, sometimes people enjoy impressing others using fancy vocabulary as you mentioned it before, I think that specific speech is not natural and fluent because you don't speak in that way in your native language, that's why we have to speak in natural and fluent way in order to other understand what we're saying. I really appreciate your help and support! God bless you.

I-10 to find a way to use words that convey more precisely what I intend to say, there are many examples of this throughout the day. Both words might suffice but one is a more close depiction of something subtle you're trying to express. I often find myself trying to use simpler words when a word that first came to mind more succinctly conveys the thought

I scored a number in my Utme exam but lied to my people that I scored higher than the original score jokingly, without realizing...it has already spread in the entire school and I got called by the principal to congratulate me and send our results to the district but it was all a lie... And I have to apologize to clear the air b4 it's too late, and I get into a worse situation cus I really didn't mean to lie to everyone it was just a friend to friend joke that I would have teased about normally but now I ended up in this kind of situation and I'm sincerely going crazy

Alright Mr Alex I got a question for you. You said on the fifth part that you might consider yourself a leader, but if nobody is following you, then you are not a leader yet. So here is my question. Do I really need followers to become a leader? Thank you.
@alexanderlyon3 күн бұрын
Yes, a leader, by definition, must have followers. Otherwise, who are they leading?

No Speaker knows it all; so we all can learn from others as I have with you Alex. Thank you! I happen to be a Speaker for Gideons International and speak about every other week. Practice makes perfect, for sure; but practicing wrong only makes it less effective. Learning better ways of being persuasive makes me a more effective Servant of our Great God. I learned a lot from just this 5 part Series! Thank you so very much! And may God further your work and influence! Elbert Hardy, Speaker and Podcaster.
