True! Interrupting sometimes is acceptable. It's frequent interrupting that is the problem. It's a bad habit for some people even when the other person is not long-winded.

@ my guess is that people who tend to interrupt others might have trouble remembering what they will want to add to the conversation

Yes, there are lots of reasons people interrupt and I try not to let it bother me when they do. I just want to make sure I'm not the one interrupting.

Hi coach. I gave myself a 5 on each one and I was really generous. For me I spent a lot of time alone. I didn't talk much on the phone either. I realized when I go on and on I think I am thinking out loud.

I hear you. What they say about financial investment also goes for investments in your own skills: The best time to start working on communication was 20 years ago, the next best time is today. You can do it. Just start putting the tips into practice one day at a time.

If you got a full scholarship to Harvard it’s not one upmanship. Full scholarship to Harvard is ONLY based on financial need, not merit. You’re telling the world you don’t have the money.

Ah, I didn't know that. Hopefully, most people watching will understand the intention of my example in the video. Still, I can't help but think many parents would still see a full scholarship as something to celebrate regardless of the criteria.

@@alexanderlyon Most people don't know this. I only know because I have several relatives who attend Ivy's and the parents told me about the financial aid process. With most schools you just fill out FAFSA. With Ivy's you have to fill out a DETAILED form listing all your assets. The upside is talented students whose families REALLY can't afford tuition will be able to attend. I like that.
