best way to make EMG's sound better in my opinion Def us the 18 volt mod or 24 volt mod (the 27 volt mod has damaged my equipment before, so i don't recommend that. The EMG 60 in my opinion sounds best out of the 18 or 85 or 60...one of my guitars had the 60 in the neck and i tried putting it in the bridge and i like it a lot more

I need a Floyd guitar so I am getting an M-II (currently backordered). I bought a Jackson American Series Soloist. The15th fret is high and causes buzzing--totally unacceptable at $2,600. It's a beautiful guitar otherwise. M-II appears to be the best in class. I hate the volume knob position (way too close to bridge pickup/picking hand). Guess I'll have to adjust and quit being a spaz with my picking hand.

I couldn't have said it better. I have owned numerous ESP guitars, I have a Korean Viper that puts my Deluxe SG to shame. I owned 2 different loaded 1000's from Korea, amazing fit, finish, tone, playability. I owned one MH-350MT from Indonesia... was garbage, buzz fest, binding was crap. When you open up the back of a guitar and it's loaded with sawdust, paint chips, and other assorted equine feces it doesn't inspire confidence. I notice a lot of these LTD's are coming from both plants. I love Sweetwater's site because they are very transparent, they show you the guitar you are buying and the back of the neck so you can actually choose which one you want.

Great video - loving the channel! The best and worst thing about Gibson is the nitro paint. It usually ages beautifully and that's what people like, but if people want them to stay mint or even be mint from the factory they are better off buying a different guitar. I had an explorer for 20 years and most of the aging was lovely apart I from where the clearcoat had started to peel along the edge of the fretboard, which was a mess. Having said that, I've got the Gibson Mustaine V and the quality is amazing - it's probably the best guitar I own.

Totally agree! Wherever I try the neck humbucker in any situation it always sounds worse to my ears. If I upgrade a guitar I only ever buy a bridge pickup so it saves money as well! I just recently picked up a Schecter C1 Platinum Blackout with EMG's and a C7 SLS Evil Twin with Fishmans. I already did the 24v mod on the EMG's and they sound better. Maybe still a tad dull and just a hint of muddiness, but still pretty good. The Fishmans were pretty good as well, but you can definitely tell the difference in your video between 9v and 24v and the 24v does get rid of the harshness. I didn't notice the harshness much though as I have horrible taste and my goto distortion pedal is an old ass Digitech Grunge pedal with all the gain and treble. So you're ears are gonna bleed no matter what. lol After seeing your video and liking the 24v modded fishmans more, I ordered a second 24v mod for mine. lol I also seldom play through the grunge with the 7 string SLS Evil Twin any more and typically tend to use my Horizon Precision Overdrive and Apex Preamp. Gives it a much less harsh ballsy sound.

Awesome, I’m glad the video helped you. I was laughing at the grunge pedal, I had one back in the day and it sounded so good back then. Honestly, I ditched distortion pedals and just boost a high gain amp now. I’ve heard good things about the precision drive, have yet to try one though.

@@jordansguitarchannel3809 So this is my second Grunge pedal. I had one of the old old ones and I thought it sounded better. Unfortunately my son got a hold of it and broke it when he was little. I managed to find another one though. Its not quite the same, but its still good. I mean, like I said I have poor taste, but I like ear bleeding buzzsaw sounds. lol The Precision Overdrive is cool. I found that I get a lot of noise from it depending on gain and the brightness knob. In fact taking the brightness know down to like a 1-2 was about where I could get rid of the noise and I'm still happy with it. Mainly a weird noise after palm muting that I only got through that pedal. Mind you I'm running a Decimator G-String X in a 4 cable setup as well and it still didn't get rid of that weird post palm muting noise. After I dialed it in and ran it through both that and the Horizon Devices Apex Preamp, I can get some pretty good tones out of it. I still run a bit of gain on my Orange Micro Dark though. I've been meaning to pick up a bigger tube amp like a Victory or a bigger Orange, but I just havent got around to it yet. I have an old 100w Line 6 that I hate and never use. lol I guess we can chalk it all up to the never ending hunt for all the cool tones. So time consuming... so expensive... but I've got to try all the things. Not even going to get started on the always changing pedal board insanity I have going on.... lol

Haha, yeah the tone dragon chase is all too real man. I think I’m at a stopping point for now. I’m getting to that point where my SD-1, and my Maxon cover everything boost wise for me. Pedal addiction is real though, I keep saying I’m gonna downsize but just can’t seem to let go of my toys. Ha

@bradchenoweth7584 Ай бұрын
@@jordansguitarchannel3809 Yeah, I'm no where near done chasing cool tones. Its gotten expensive. I've been hunting for a few discontinued or hard to find boutique pedals as well as getting something like a Boss ES-8 and a multi-level 32x16 pedal board. Not even sure the Boss ES-8 has enough inputs for me to be honest. Stuff has gotten very out of hand. lol I'm still hunting for that weird robotic fuzz that Robin Finck has going on in the song 1,000,000. I know what pedals he was using now, but getting one has been a challenge. Thought I might be able to get it with a Game Changer Plasma Coil and I can get it close... but ya know... lol

Expensive is a relative term. What one considers expensive, another considers cheap. For me, $800 for a guitar is expensive and $600 for an amp is expensive. Then I see these guys with $8,000 Custom Shop Fenders. $12,000 Custom Shop Gibsons and $5,000 Marshall Pro Tube Amps and here I am with a Godin Session, a Godin Solidac, a GWL Sonamaster, AG-09 practice amp and Line-6 Catalyst 200 solid-state modelling amp and I think to myself: "Are those guys in-fracking-sane? JUST ONE of those guitars costs more than all of my guitar gear COMBINED!" I bought Godin because they're elite-level quality without the elite-level price. My Godin Session is every bit the equal of an MIA Strat (and then some) for less than half the price. My Godin Solidac is kind of like a Les Paul with regard to its body shape but its feature set is completely different. I paid only $350CAD for it (used of course). It has an H-S-H pickup configuration (the HBs are PERFECT for metal) with a trem system PLUS a piezo pickup for acoustic amp mixing (with a separate acoustic output jack). Godins are ALL made in Canada (even the parts) and you're not going to get much better than that. For people who want to sell the guitars they buy, I can totally see where you're going with that. However, I bought my Godins used for bargain-basement prices (Session was $500CAD and Solidac was $350CAD) and they were worth more than what I paid on the day I bought them. I could easily get more for both of them today but I have no desire to EVER sell them. As for my amps, the AG-09 practice amp came in my Washburn "Starter Kit" I bought years ago for $180CAD and I literally JUST brought home my brand-new Line 6 Catalyst 200 (200W 2×12" digital modelling amp) that I got on sale for the INSANELY LOW price of only $250CAD. Last month this amp was over $600CAD. Just try to find a 200W amp of any kind for $250CAD. Just so you know, $250CAD is $175USD. Good luck with that. 😉👍 As for my Sonamaster, I could sell that guitar alone for more than what I paid for the entire kit because I took it to a Master Luthier and he set it up so good that I still play it to this day despite the fact that I own two vastly superior Godins. Hey, if you're just practicing, a cheaper guitar that's more difficult to play is the way to go because it just means that you're going to be even better on your high-quality gear. In fact, my go-to for practicing is my cheap Chinese acoustic because the thicker strings keep my fingers nice and callused. I paid only $220 for it so I don't care if I never sell it. I never want to because this thing plays and sounds better than a Breedlove Discovery S Concerto that costs TRIPLE the price. When it comes to buying new, I couldn't agree more that brands like Gibson and Fender hold their value (especially made-in-USA models) but if you're buying on the used market, you can find deals so good that you could flip the guitar the next day for more than you paid.

I am wondering if I can use this for splitting a stereo F/X board into 2 different amp heads using 4 cable on both. I have 5153, and Dual Rec half stacks, and a Boss GT-10. I'm trying to run the loop effects from the GT 10, into both amps for stereo. I can see that this can split my guitar input into 2 outputs so that's good. And it appears to have 3 separate fx loops. Would I be able to do a bastardized version of the 4 cable(or 6 as it would be) method using my GT 10 stereo outs in conjunction with the 2 separate fx loops of the Headtrak and have them split left and right into each amps' loop? What do you think? Thanks

Awesome man. I ended up getting an E-II Viper and love it, I just really dug the colors on those guitars.

So to do this mod i just need to use the same batterys you use in this video? No wire change or nothing? I would wanna try this with my classics if its that easy. Good video👍🏼

@@jordansguitarchannel3809 did it improve the clean sound aswell? Or is more a heavy chunky riff mod only?

In my opinion it does, at least with the moderns. It seems more full, and less sharp. Just my opinion.

I can partially go with your opinion dude. The thing is I cant judge about the LTD's, because I dont own one. Regarding the E2's I just ordered a E2, M2 snow white with the Fishmans. That being said I am mega anxious receiving the guitar due to their quality issues, especially the pickup/tremolo cavity routing is really bad these days. My Ibanez prestiges on the other hand I received pretty much flawless, especially the 5000 series ones

Bro it’s hit or miss with just about everything these days, honestly. Having a platform like this I hear it about every brand sadly. Sending good vibes and hoping your new axe is on point. Keep me posted as I’m curious now, thanks bro🤘

@@jordansguitarchannel3809 tenx dude, I hope it will be great. I own a lot of e2's and must say all of them we're great, but still minor issues. But the crooked pickup cavities I find a mega bridge too far to accept. But like I said the past years I bought a lot of Ibanez prestiges and honestly no to little issues. So, this since a long time ordering ESP e2 is a nervous one

Why on earth would you want to deal with fret wear, flat spots, divets etc. Absolutely stainless steel frets all the way

Honestly man in 33 years I’ve only worn the frets on one guitar, and I play at least two hours a day.

I just subscribed to your channel; really like your honest reviews. I do have two LTD's, which I'm pretty happy with; however, I am having a little bit of trouble dialing in low action, without ending up with fret buzz....still work in progress. Based on another one of your reviews, I'm seriously considering getting a Solar guitar; it would be my first. Thanks again!
