This was very useful. Thanks for sharing. Is there any way to reduce the intrusive adverts during the class. I had to leave the posture and skip adds regularly. It didn't feel very yogic!

I find those floatation tanks so stressful. 😕 Thoughts on those times when savasana creates space for anxious thoughts, to do list, etc. I aim for kindness and welcoming the messengers. I would love to read your thoughts.
@LizzieYogaАй бұрын
When you notice yourself having anxious thoughts in Savasana I suggest bringing your attention to the sensations of breathing. Not the conceptual "idea" of breathing, but the very real physical sensations. Let me know how it goes!

Hi Lizzie & Judith, This is the 1st of your videos that I have watched and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did my yoga teacher training back in 2006 -2007. However, since then I have had a few health issues and find I am not longer able to continue my normal yoga practices & have been looking for an alternative. I gave chair yoga a try but some how or another it just didn't cut the mustard. Then to my wonderful delight on Tuesday I attended my 1st Restorative Yoga classis and felt I had come home, this was what I had been missing. However, due to distance I feel it is a bit unpractical for me to continue attending this particular class on a weekly basis and I am looking to find a Restorative yoga class locally. Then I discovered your You Tubes & I thought these might be good to follow along with in between a weekly class locally. However, I would like to know if there is a recommended order for watching your Restorative Yoga videos. Thanking yu in anticipation. Regards, Trish Turner

How is it even possible to do a push up with the block under one hand without bending the arm that doesn’t have the block? 😂 I am laughing but I am totally serious. The only way this seems to work in my body is leaning toward the hand with the block as I do the push-up so the opposite arm can say straight if that makes sense. And hands are definitely a bit wider than shoulder distance.

Thank you for a sharing so useful information! ☺️🙏 Question: First position with a breath. When my back is "arched" in natural curve I feel pinching. What to do if I feel better with fully tucked back?
@alyshafindley4891Ай бұрын
Mary also said several times “pulling your rib cage out of your low back”. Can you explain that cue a little more so I can visualize that?
@yogawithmaryrichardsАй бұрын
Practice lifting your back-bottom ribs upward while you draw your bottom-front ribs down and in slightly. Pretend the root of your neck begins in the center of your chest. You are a giraffe! So, lift from the center of your chest and imagine touching the ceiling with the crown of your head while keeping the chin parallel to the floor. This way you won’t drop the weight of the rib cage into the top of your lower back and you’ll balance your head cavity over your chest cavity and your chest cavity over your abdominopelvic cavity.
@alyshafindley4891Ай бұрын
Why the foot turning out a big toe distance in warrior3? Doesn’t that externally rotate the standing thigh out and different than the second toes being more parallel in tadasnsna. Why the difference?
@yogawithmaryrichardsАй бұрын
I explain this at 44:55 … We turn the toes of the standing leg out so there’s more bony contact between the head of the thigh bone and the hip socket. This gives us greater skeletal stability and tells the myofascial to come to stabilization party.
