You're definitely supposed to use agave nectar. Also, it is supposed to be three layers and it is 100% supposed to be drank as a shot. I used to make them all the time and the shot is what makes it such a unique drink. It doesn't work well if you try to sip it

I’m tuning in late, but since it’s been several months since this review could anyone provide some insight into the differences between this and the 65mm version, now that it has also been released. 🙏🙏 Also I’m between this and the 064s so any opinions/considerations here would be much appreciated (besides the fact that one is conical and the other is flat).

you asked for recommendations...I bought an older Flair Neo (gray metal frame) on eBay new in the box for $80. I think it's fair to say when you use the same manual lever press, you develop a muscle memory for how much pressure to apply therefore a pressure gauge becomes redundant. After pulling hundreds of shots without a gauge, I don't think a gauge would make any difference. My point is, once you've found the beans and grind you like, and a machine that makes great espresso, try sticking with it instead of constantly tweaking things. People would be happier and would save money if they realized they have a good thing and it doesn't need improvements. There would be far fewer divorces and f'd up children in the world with this philosophy too.

Why is it getting so expensive for home brewing. Surely $1500 for a grinder for ones kitchen has to be considered over the top. It looks like a top quality grinder, nearly a piece of art but still it grinds coffee beans. Where is the industry going with this. How much does one need to spend to achieve the type of coffee achieved in a specialty coffee shop considering the cost of a grinder and espresso machine.

Just curious sir Sprometheus, if you are looking for control and better tactile feel, why didnt you consider fully manual machines like a Robot or Flair levers? From what I'm seeing, the Pro 800 is basically semi auto, but you pull a lever instead of pressing buttons.

I have no MACHINE Atago. I used my taste! The needle tool distribution is an approximation to recompat all with disc and it's the only correct way! Why???? I can't explain in details, but the barrel inside the disc is unable to replace the same of coffe also in the center! It's a small hand! You can do this without needle and without disc with various generic tools but with disc is ten times easier 😂 Needles are very easy to use! And disc cut the edges perfectly 👌 . Also a convex temper is too consider to make a distribution on single portafilter convex!!!😮

been waiting for levers to gain their place in espresso end game machines. My PV Lusso spring lever, gives the best flavors from beans. Blind tests with guests, they agree, and can tell body, flavors complexity....and you can vary trhe shot with several factors...so it does not limit experimentation....but improves chances of great tasting espresso, if you accept and work with benefits, limits and design...imo, ime, love my e61 but lever flavor is king!

Hello - thanks so much for detailed review. checked timemore site and seems no longer making this grinder. Please would have recommendation for travel powered grinder similar to this in size and having no plastic parts that contact beans. So unit all glass and steel? Good too if not any aluminum surfaces in contact with beans. Thanks much with any update?

Leva love ! Got a 3grp Athena monster machine in my drive thru shop ( if you can believe that), have been using 3yrs or so. It has same head as profitec. Fun to use , customers love it, some inconsistency from variety of time you hold and let go but it's rare shot isn't good even with different ratios or volumes. Cons for me atleast using in commercial environment are exposed HOT heads, head gaskets are thinner then standard machines so they ware faster and they also hold screen on ( whole thing can blow out of there if dont lock filter in snug enough) and seems hard to get good steam out of wand( lots power but wetter, not that nice dry steam? you can get with some other machines. Why not odsy argos ? Hard to get ? Thanks, I'm going to enjoy these lever videos since I use one alot !

Why do you distribute with that first tool and smack the portafilter several times before tamping? It looks like that is clumping the coffee all over again...

Hi @Sprometheus , Thank you so much for the excellent video! I have a quick question: Is the Lelit Bianca suitable for continuous commercial use, shot after shot? Does it offer the same shot-to-shot temperature stability as the La Marzocco GS3? (I assume the GS3 is designed for commercial use.) Thanks in advance for your insights!

9:30 absolutely agree drip tray is shitty, should be drainable by default, and stop by weight solutions with caddies are ok, if a bit fiddly and not very solid... (I don't like putting my scale on the tray as you do) The noise is cute, much nicer than the washing machine sound of the wendogee copycat, and 100% agree the reservoir cover should be included, would cost them $2 or less if mass produced. I'd love to do a side by side to see if I can taste any lack of "mouthfeel" - for me, and my milk based drinks, it's superb... and love the v3 Filter basket for pour overs that's come out since you made this video.

8:15 - your concern about the complexity of the DE-1 "all the pipes and tubes and valves" - but in fact mostly they are very high quality synthetic pipes which do not build up like steel/brass italian machines, and connectors which are extremely reliable and not prone to leaking due to expansion and contraction of metal. By and large they are very solid and reliable, and indefinite extended warranty programs with free delivery and collection make that more simple and accessible.
@markpalmos5 күн бұрын
hey fella, in case you don't know... 7:00 - you don't need to go into any menu to be able to manually control the shot, all shots can be manually adjusted, start with any preset and then use your finger if you want/need... I very often use this when I am dialing in a new bean and guess the grind wrongly but don't want to waste the shot, so if it's ground too fine, I crank up the pressure to try get a reasonable flow so the cup is still drinkable... this is very easy, no preset needed. Agree this info should be more obvious and clear.

How is this for smoke? My complaint with the Behmor that I have is that there's no way for me to route the smoke out a window, and I know some of the more premium roasters have a hose you can use with the smoke port.

The TDS results are all within normal limits and similar, probably due to the fact that you’re using a filter to clarify your samples and make them equal to begin with. I would retest your samples by just agitating them first and then using a dropper to extract a milliliter then place it in your tester.

I get why some manual espresso makers can't properly fit a heating element in their tiny machines but this thing has no excuse. At this price (or many just a tiny bit more) they should have something that can pre-heat their brew chamber.

My 2012 Bezzera Strega is still performing exactly as it should, and is a pleasure to use. I would highly recommend a lever machine to anyone who wants to be part of the process and enjoy that silent extraction…
