Great review. Do you remember if you had enough headroom in the front? I’m the exact same size.

Bought a 2023 lariat lightning in August here in Alberta Canada. Love the looks, love the power, the way it drives and charging at home is so cheap. I have plenty of range for wherever I drive up here. It's a perfect truck for me. Lose some range in the winter, but so do gas trucks.

Looks disproportionate in LWB. They need to redesign it completely to match the increased wheelbase. Make it taller, wider and longer hood.

I bought this exact same vehicle (trim, color, 19"wheels, etc.) in May 2024 as my commuter vehicle for just under $30k. It has been great! I drive the interstate almost exclusively and my MPH has been averaging about 36 (well above the predicted average). While the long-term ownership costs are still up in the air, so far I have been very happy with this vehicle. I challenge the folks on this thread whining about the size of the engine, to actually drive it for yourself before passing judgement. While the turbocharged 3-cylinder won't win any street races, it has been more than adequate for accelerating to freeways speeds, lane changes, etc.

I sold my PHEV after about five months and six recalls. The automatic emergency braking system was dangerously bad, the ride was harsh, ands my 45 pound dogs who fit fine in my Highlander were cramped-so, limited cargo space. Traded in for a 4Runner with almost identical miles, and I’m happy I did. I lost money, but that’s my price for a rushed, bad decision.

I own a 2017 Ford Escape 2.0 4WD Titanium Metallic Ruby Red w/ black trim, black leather interior, full panoramic sunroof (my first top trim fully loaded vehicle), w/ 59k New England miles on the clock, and I flippin' love it. If you do the maintenance, the car keeps going strong. Now, with that said, If my Escape suddenly became brand new, it would be the Escape featured in this video. Staring out the window as I write this, looking at my Escape. It's awesome. Although I like the new exterior, the new interior needs help. The features are there, just not the look. And use soft, to-the-touch plastic instead of scratchy plastic, Ford. As far as the price, Mine was at a new $39,0040.00, so $44K seems rough. Ford is a good car company that provides sturdy, lasting vehicles that you can rely on. As a consumer, I try to be as frugal as possible. I'm not sure about you guys? My first car was a 76' Ford Cobra Mustang 2 at 16, I still believe in Ford today, and you can get a lot of value out of them. Hope to see you guys out there; stay safe.

Turbo S only lacks in instant acceleration from 1st to 2nd gear. Beyond that it has more power than even necessary and is in no way lacking. For a fairly heavy SUV it handles really well, superior ride, and excellent fit an finish.

Its really cool but i don't like the dual clutch all that does is noticeably raise the price with no real benefits, if this was a super car id say sure but in a truck it just isn't necessary. Also the giant wheels just dont fit on a vehicle of this type but otherwise its pretty cool

The rough ride you complained about, some of it can be contributed to the 19-in wheels. Most of it is probably due to the 45 PSI that's in the tires from the factory. The trax is shipped from the factory with over-inflated tire, something to do with shipping. I don't know if it's to avoid flat spots on the tires or what, there is some literature out about it! The dealership is supposed to check this during pre-delivery inspection, unfortunately most don't! My 2024 activ came with 45 PSI in each tire, my dealership missed it during the PDI inspection. You can change the odometer screen, there's three different screens. You accomplished this by pushing in on the scroll wheel right side of the steering wheel! 😊

Just bought the wife a new 24 night edition.. at first I didn't like it. We went and test drove one and I changed my mind real quick! Comfortable, road noise is minimum, quick for what it is, mpg is great, handling is AWESOME I tested that out very thoroughly!!😎 The more I look at it, I like it even more!

Could OPD be enabled via software updates, if VW choose to do so? Coming from a BMW I5, where OPD is working perfectly, this is something I would really appreciate .

What about Buick Encore GX? It’s less money and the headroom is amazing as I’m taller. Have disabilities. I tried other SUVs listed but cannot afford $600-800 car payments! And not comfortable! Hit my head on the door getting in! Hyundai Tucson for example!

It's slow. But a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine will last you far longer than a turbo-charged one. Still, if you have the option of getting to work by taking side roads or an expressway; take the side roads. What won't last you is that Jatco CVT trans. unless you get it flushed every 20K miles. Doing so, could realistically get you to 100K miles. But be ready to sell it when it comes close to that. The headrests on the SR look Premium. But are not as comfortable due to having solid speakers built into them. Overall, if you want a tall hatchback for not a huge amount of money, this is a good choice. A Crossover? No AWD available. Not even as an option.
