You call that "fricken flooded"? 8:39 Thats just a few wee puddles. We get more rain than that in 5 minutes in NZ. Hahaha! Keep up the good work.

Hey, just sending a big thanks. My wife and I were watching your video's and came across one where you showed cleaning the maf sensor. We had been blowing smoke for a long time and it's been serviced, so you'd think that sort of thing was done. Sure enough, I did it myself and my problem is solved! 🎉 Thanks again 👍

I would rather an outback mechanic work on my equipment every day of the week, compared to city "mechanics. Outback mechanic = do it once, do it right. City mechanic = just keep swapping parts till it goes away.

Hey Isabella. I’ve been a mechanic for 40 years on the north coast of nsw we got parts delivered twice a day ,I can only imagine your frustration having to wait for a part to finish a job. Having the passion is the only way to keep going as mechanic, well that’s what I found anyway. Good on you guys well done.

Yes, air bags and bt50s don't go together, I heard about this quite a few years ago. I had trouble with wheel studs breaking on my 60 series so I replaced them with 14mm studs, no more broken studs. I also had a couple of CV joints explode due to a lokker the front, I replaced it with a LSD.
@antony36782 күн бұрын
Perhaps before you make half baked opinions about the reason the BT50 Chassis cracked, do some research first. There isn't any link to such damage and airbags. Did it occur to you that the idiot's vehicle was over loaded? Or that his canopy/tray setup was too far to the rear? You're just a mechanic. You're not an engineer.

Yeah well the sheila won't be able to work anymore after she hits 40 because woman are just not made to do that kind of work and think that showing off is more important than having brains! and as for the guys their work care out of everyone's taxes will be paying for it, and I wouldn't take my car to these guys in a fit!

When I worked for Forests NSW part of my role was to check and clean campgrounds! What do NPWS do with all the land they claim sovereignty over. Forest NSW also maintained a good network of roads and trails throughout the Forests.
@LapsofMaps3 күн бұрын
We have driven a fair chunk of NSW forest tracks. Lots of locked gates and in turn lots of open tracks that are often technical. Good 4WD touring in NSW.

I suggest a concrete pad with its own washer and it will need its own water supply + big sign “wash before workshop” I guess the short comings of that plan would be water supply. One day I might make it. What sort of fuel supply do people need to cross the Simpson, I had a friend many years ago that took a 200 L drum for the canning and filled up about half way. Loved the video. I think more people might travel, just to get a decent service.

Hey you two are amazing! Good job. I’m very impressed that you have such a range of parts in stock . Hard to cater for so many different vehicles . I guess you get to know what is needed . Gee I know some dealers that don’t stock what you have there . Well done from nz !
@LapsofMaps4 күн бұрын
Mt Dare stocks a big range for their 79 series, tyres, lots of shocks, nuts and bolts ect but other parts have to get ordered and picked up from Alice Springs, which is a 1100km round trip!

Awesome! I have a 79 1Hz cruiser Great truck , simple no computers , not the most powerful but reliable . Know a guy from Adelaide who had one of those and must’ve been several times around Australia in his one , even though the middle from one side to the other , west to east . Hey all the best guys.

Please do away the subtitles! That´s the worst, I hate them! The Tube generates them if needed- subs are such a friggin GenZ TicToc thing. You´ll never see such snowflakes in the Out anyways. The only thing I´d miss is some good weed to puff- I don´t drink no more. Have a good time, please get rid of them effing subs.

Like to hear more about what parts and how many you keep stock of. Also how long does it take to get parts in , from where do they come from (one big supplier or do you have to spend a lot of time searching) and how do the parts get there quickly.
@LapsofMaps4 күн бұрын
Alice springs has most of the parts needed, there's a few options of auto stores. If there's no stock, then all you can do is wait for them or get towed to alice. Stock : shock absorbers, tyres, fuses, oil and other bits and pieces.

Asking how good and strong do you think Land Cruisers are, doesn't the answer to your question show by what you repair, didn't see any Patrols there or did you not show them in the video.
@LapsofMaps5 күн бұрын
Many vehicles didn't make it into the workshop! There were 2 patrols and a Hilux with blown diffs. Landcruisers can be strong if loaded well, maintained well with preventative maintenance, and looked after.
