J.T. Miller is a nice addition to a team going nowhere !! He can be the catalyst for a new philosophy and line-up. This team needs more aggressive and gritty players; Some things don't change with an organization. As long as I have been a fan, this type of player has been in shortage to the Rangers. With Edstrom out, Rempe becomes the only player with size and a men streak. Cuylle is a nice piece, but his game is limited. It is time to look to the future. This team is more the one that lost last night, and NOT the one that beat Boston. Igor is being wasted, and his play is affected. Realistically, Shesterkin is the best piece to assure a strong haul. This team has too many Reilly Smiths: Solid but medioce.

Something is just off this year with this team. The want and the effort just is not there. I don't want to see them waste cap space or lose good future prospects for a few rentals and get knocked out in the first round like they did two years ago
@carlor.s.4742Сағат бұрын
I don't want to see the Rangers target any players at the trade deadline because that will not solve the problem. Some Rangers fans are in denial about what the real problem is. The real problem is coaching, specifically Laviolette & D coach Housley. Did you hear Dox say twice in the postgame interview how the Pens are a well coached team? Exactly! Sullivan is a way better coach than Laviolette. As Boyle said a few games ago, the Rangers pass the puck laterally way too much, especially the D. And speaking about the D why was Ranger K'iller out there on the PK when the winning goal is scored by a guy uncovered in the slot. K'iller has no conception of the distinction between narrow vs open focus that Dmen need to know. He engages in so much puck watching(not the only one btw) & Tomassino was right in the spot K'iller just left watching the puck instead of opening focus to who is in front of the net. Detroit gassed their coach & suddenly they have won 7 straight. Laviolette's days are numbered & I hope so are Drurys.

The Rangers are back. They’re making the playoffs. They’re better than Carolina and Jersey. You’ll see next time they play each other. They’re not selling anyone. Rangers are in a better position by not being on anyone’s radar. They’re climbing the standings and have a chance to not only make the playoffs but get to 2nd or 3rd place in the division. Then you have a series against Carolina. Rangers always beat Carolina in the playoffs. They’re a much better playoff team than those guys. All the rangers need to do is run these lines until the playoffs Kreider Miller Zibanejad Panarin Trocheck Lafreniere Drury is going to find a 3C. They could go a different route to spread the wealth as well Panarin Trocheck Lafreniere Cuylle Miller Trade deadline pickup Kreider Zibanejad Smith Moving smith is a mistake. He’s won a cup in a 3rd line role which is where he’s going to end up when they get to the playoffs. The point is that the rangers have most of the pieces required to make a run this year, so they’re going to go for it. They’re not going to throw another year of kreider away. Panarin is getting older. Kreider is too. Zibanejad is. Now they have miller who is still in his prime but on the other end of his prime years. They’re going to go for it. I’d say trade Lindgren for a better partner for fox, but fox isnt going to like that. That leaves us with needing a 3rd center or a right wing, and at least 1 LDs, maybe 2 to replace vaakaneinen. Rangers have the team to make a run, so they’re going to get in and they’re going to go for it. Look for JT Millers no prisoners mindset to run off on a lot of guys now. He hunts out there. I can see the rangers beating Washington. I can see them beating Jersey. I can see them beating Carolina. With JT Miller and possibly 1 more piece, they can beat Florida. They’re in a great position here to sneak in and make a lot of noise. I say you go for it because this team is getting older. They have 2 cracks left after this one before a big retool comes into play.

Kakko, Chytil, Mancini and K'Andre? All the pieces we thought we were going to build into the next generation are gone or on their way out. I know Key has had a bad season but he's still under 25 and you can salvage him. Adam Fox has scored 3 goals, 2 ENGs and has plenty of bad plays that led to turnovers or goals and no one wants to move on from him because he can rebound, come back and find his form. You trade Key and you're scrapping a kid who has more upside than any other Ranger D-Man in the barn. Kakko and Chytil leave and immediately land running and making great plays all of a sudden. Why is that? Why do kids seem to struggle and wilt in NYR and if given a chance somewhere else they flourish? No one wants to trade or thinks trading Laf is a good idea even though he fell off a cliff as soon as he signed a new deal. I think it's fair and right to question whether or not to trade guys like Kreider and Mika after the season they have had because everyone knows that they are what they are and they're only going to decline in utility and production. dumping Key feels premature to me. I'd keep him unless someone is offering something truly remarkable but no one is.

I would hate to see the Rangers do with K Miller what the Buffalo Sabres constantly do - They get good young players who quickly wilt...Bufalo trades them away...they then excel with a new team. Think Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart. K Miller has the size, speed, skills and youth to be great - but most would agree he doesn't play up to that potential. They should do with K Miller what happened with Igor, or what Rempe did - either a vacation away for a few weeks or a Summer program working privately with select outside coaches.
@TrenurSportsКүн бұрын
I understand that but it is K'Andre's 5th season now, he just turned 25, and he's had back-to-back seasons now of looking worse than the previous one so I think if other teams are willing to offer something good in return could be what's best for both team and player.

I fear that Drury & Laviolette are very committed to K'iller & that could be an issue because trading him is essential. I'm not a fan of the square peg into a round hole philosophy. The fact that they have to HIDE Zibenejad on the wing is a JOKE. Talk about getting a pass. Nobody is willing to talk about how drastic this guys decline actually is. 22/23 - 90 pts 23/24 - 70 pts 24/25 - 35pts in 53 games on pace for 50ish pts and even worse a current -24 Same thing with Fox. Not a number 1 defenseman. But nobody looks the problem in the face. They refuse to see any wrong with their golden boys. Too many players are miscast for their roles and the coach won't change a thing.

Dorrington is not anywhere close to Mancini. Why’d you Mancini was the reason the trade was held up via Dreger TSN. Drury finally gave in to the Mancini demand. Branstromm was scratched and waived, despite minimum cap hit. He’s also been waived by OTT who drafted him. Basically, these two are just throw in. Mancini was the target acquisition. Chytil and 1st was already set to go. Even though you might consider Chytil damaged goods, he’s not afraid of getting hit again and is playing like he’s challenging for 1C while E.Pettersson is trying to figure out things. Some concussed players are able to come back and finish out their NHl careeers.
