Rangers aren't trading with the Canucks anymore. Drury's few remaining brain cells finally were used properly and he choose not to move forward with the Trade during the final hours of the talks, before everything fall apart...... Thank god. Instead, let's talk about how the Rangers blew another lead. The Rangers played 40 minutes of good hockey and had a good chance to win Quick's 400th career win as an American born goaltender..... But, The Rangers collapsed in the third period. They gave up 21 of Quicks 37 or 38 shots faced during that period with TEN of those shots coming from high quality scoring area's on the ice. They could not even capitalize on a rookie goalie being nervous for his first ever career start on home ice for him. It was honestly a pathetic effort by the Rangers. Yes, they were on a back to back in terms of games played but so were the Habs so that excuse isn't gonna work here. Last year, the Rangers find a way to win close games like these. This year, they'll choke away leads and don't really play hard enough to regain lost leads.

The Rangers played the same type game sitting on a tie or one goal lead playing inconsistent and letting the other team run all over them as for Rempe he got his BUTT kicked again instead of punching he was slapping he was dragged to the floor WOW.

All 100% true. At times like this I try to look at individual performances as a positive: Mika's been looking better. I keep hoping he'll get his shit together and return to being that top line point per game center he was just a few years ago. We're stuck with him until 2030 so I might as well keep hoping. I thought Borgen had a good game. True, he had a turnover that led to a Montreal goal, but in my opinion that was more Suzuki's heads up hustle to make a great play than an error by Borgen. He also made a really great sliding block that saved a goal. Despite a really poor 3rd period, their overall defense has been looking better over the last 7-10 games. True, it couldn't get much worse, but it is showing signs of life again.

How about giving credit to the Habs instead of pouting about the Rangers but you don't care because you don't watch other teams play...the Habs are 12 and 3 in last 15 games okay and Rangers took 5 of possible 6 points this year when its your original rival and always had trouble of playing in Montreal year in year out

@@gocharules I'm not pouting, just stating facts. I also had the Habs winning this game before it started. So I fail to see your point. Also, I watch all of the teams in the NHL play, if you even have looked at my past comments you'd know that, so again, your wrong. I also said yesterday, I was looking forward to watching the Habs future young goalie starting against the Rangers...... So seriously, go take your pointless rage out on someone else. I've even said, the Habs have been a different team the past month, a few days ago.............

No to a JT trade! Pointless to trade away assets to bring in another expensive older player, jt on this team will not push them over the edge and make them serious contenders. A year or two too late to be worth it.

@@TheMightySolarClam if we keep signing players in their mid to late 30s then we are really limiting this team to only compete for another 3 years tops. What the rangers need more than anything else is to gut the entire prospect development team and get competent staff in those roles. You don't trade for players when their value is at an all time high unless you have a legitimate shot at the cup and only need one or 2 pieces to take you over the hump. This team is flawed on D and that needs to be addressed, they also need to get faster since they can't keep up with the forecheck of faster and younger teams. Once they fix those issues then maybe a miller trade would be worth it. You can't patch these big structural flaws with one player which you're going to have to trade away young talent to get.

@@swekrympling the proposed trade was to send Chytil and Lindgren. Lindrgens an FA at end of year and can let Zac Jones finally play. There's your player development. Typical Rangers, trade for a guy you traded almost 10 years ago, I cant even remember who they got back for JT when they gave him to Tampa for scrubs. This team aint winning no cup this year regardless of what trade they make. They should be trying to get rid of guys like Kreider, Zibanajed, Panarin, Lindgren, the core is washed up.

Only reason Miller is in trade talks is cuz he likely temporarily modified his full NMC to a short list of teams. I’m thinking NYR, NYI, and NJD. A realistic trade would involve a similar early 30yo, around 8M per and is in a slump. On Rangers, I can only think of Mika fitting the bill but he would need to waive being moved to Vancouver (which not waiving was probably what killed the trade).

Fans need to stop trying to hit a home run in a trade. It’s not happening mid season, off season sure, but super hard with hard cap on both ends. Many do NOT view J.T. Miller as The Great White Hope, Savior of our Season. Alyssa Hope posts videos on KZbin listing him as one of the worst "Locker Room Cancers"...anyone think we need any more of that? Especially when the price is trading away two young promising players. We can't trade our way out of the slump - only play our way out. Last night's collapse in Montreal was a giant step backwards. Got outplayed, outfought, out energized. You lead 4x and can't close the deal? Yet another time the team let Quick - and themselves - down.

@@marcjohnson2610 I get it, but JT played lights out last year & we never heard about problems. "Personal reasons" leads to thinking about substance abuse problems or emotional problems. K'Andre had missed games last year for personal issues too. I believe Miller's conflict with Pettersen is probably related to his getting on P's soft play & lack of effort last year in the POs & riding him. JT is a pretty intense guy out there which I like. What I don't like is his age, but that depends on how he looks after his body.

Rangers have been talking with a few other teams the past few days. So that could also be part of another potential trade that is in the process of being finalized. We'll soon find out in about 48 hours. The last few steps in completing a trade that isn't a deadline deal, usually takes a day or two before it's officially done. In a weird twist of fate, The Rangers and Islanders are drawing a ton of attention from around the league. Reports have it that both Rangers and Islanders have had there NHL team or, other teams in leagues under there organizations control, have been heavily scouted of all there games recently and looking for young prospects they want to "Attempt" to get. So it's honestly hard to place any team with either the Rangers or Islanders currently.
