I just picked up a servo one from Amazon for my DJI Air 3 for $33. There's a ton of them now. It watches the landing light on the drone, and when it turns on, it releases the bait. It's pretty slick and seems well built. Since it uses the DJI remote to activate the light the range is very far.

That is correct, I also agree with your comment, I've discussed this with the product owner and he has ensured it is suitable for both forms of fishing. I only use it for drone fishing with an overhead and it has performed very well though. Hope that helps?

Easier to get the right fit if you wrap the blade in a layer or two of painters tape and put it in the pipe before the final press. Gives you just the right amount of retention. And leave a little tap at the top of the opening to fold over as a thumb push. Also easier to just make a couple of slits for the belt loop instead of folding and riveting it. Just some things I've picked up on after a few years of making these.
@Land2AirFishing Жыл бұрын
Ill be sure to try the painters tape next time. I used to use slits but they would break as my belt buckles are quite large due to the width of the belt on the gimble, so I just fold them over now. Thanks for your comment 🙂

I use a $5 ebay downrigger release clip for my phantom 3. Its pressure adjustable, no probs with any sized braid or fluro, i can drop baits on a dime. I never fly out and trip the bail arm, I'm not sure why anyone would do that?? I just fly out to the target zone and hover, then just wind up the slack and give it a tug and the bait falls straight down, no problems. no need to change my rig, I can attach the clip anywhere on my mainline. Not to mention droning out unweighted baits and sitting them on the heads of schooling fish, as soon as the fish strikes it pulls from the clip and yr on. there's some complicated setups out there but I like simple things haha. Excellent video 🤙

Hi Tim Our Reality is somewhat different - We have been out several times now and catch multiple fish every time during the New Zealand winter and spring You are right we do a bit of research every time we go out- Tides -Wind-Fishing Calendar-Varying distance of drops etc It really makes a difference We were out on the East coast north of Auckland and both of us caught our bag limit of snapper The key is do your research
@Land2AirFishing2 жыл бұрын
Hey Roger Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and comment mate!! At the time of production the research I gathered was alot of people asking for spots, not knowing where to fish and reports of people who had tried many times and had no success. Of course the location globally is going to favour some more than others, I believe the waters around NZ especially in the Northern island are great waters that hold alot of fish alot of thr time. Australian waters have been fished rather heavily and I believe this with the increased activity of sharks are a result of the lack of consistency when it comes to the landbased fisherman having success. I guess the message I was trying to deliver was its not accurate to expect the fishing to be better for you just because your now using a drone and can access waters that weren't reachable before.

There are much better rods out there for your money. These don't have a reel seat suitable for overheads, they cast terribly, have the action of a broomstick and only have one SiC guide. Don't fall for the hype
@Land2AirFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thats a subjectionable comment, I understand the seat for overhead and agree with its casting ability, however it's not designed for casting. Did you actually watch the review? If you watched the review you'll see me casting with it. My casting got better and better the more I practised but its not built to cast distance so shouldn't be punished for that in my opinion. I'd like to hear if you've used it and what you'd recommend as an alternative to this?

@@Land2AirFishing I recommend any spin rod at the same price point if you are using it for spin. I recommend any overhead rod at the same price point if you're using an overhead. If you are using it for droning I recommend any rod that isn't 10ft plus because it puts too much pressure on your body and you should be droning from an elevated platform, like a sand dune. In summary this rod attempts to do a range of different styles of fishing and does them all poorly.
@Land2AirFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@harizona1988 Thanks for your opinion, have you used the Predator? Thats a pretty broad statement to recommend any rod for casting or spinning. Not every spot permits droning from dunes mate, that's a very narrow minded approach to drone fishing based on your description.
