Oannes Predator can be used with a spinning reel or turn it over and put an overhead on .? I know there are rods that are designed for one and not the other Appreciate any feed back cheers

That is correct, I also agree with your comment, I've discussed this with the product owner and he has ensured it is suitable for both forms of fishing. I only use it for drone fishing with an overhead and it has performed very well though. Hope that helps?

Wasn't even high sticking this rod on a 8kg snapper and the rod snapped in two, would not recommend

I guess all products have bad batches. People rate the prevail and I've seen that snap in half during a cast. My rod builder has over 40 blanks in his back room, all broken prevails.

@@harizona1988 not based on my experience, id never buy or recommend one after what I saw happen to my father's and the room full of broken blanks at my rod builders workshop.

@@Land2AirFishing I have had a Prevail for years. I saw a Valkyrie explode and break in 3 places a couple of weeks ago. I have never seen a Prevail do that

There are much better rods out there for your money. These don't have a reel seat suitable for overheads, they cast terribly, have the action of a broomstick and only have one SiC guide. Don't fall for the hype

Thats a subjectionable comment, I understand the seat for overhead and agree with its casting ability, however it's not designed for casting. Did you actually watch the review? If you watched the review you'll see me casting with it. My casting got better and better the more I practised but its not built to cast distance so shouldn't be punished for that in my opinion. I'd like to hear if you've used it and what you'd recommend as an alternative to this?

@@Land2AirFishing I own the rod after buying in to all the hype. I have used it extensively and have had the reel seat come loose and twist from using an overhead on it. I have 3 friends that have also had the reel seat twist

@@Land2AirFishing I recommend any spin rod at the same price point if you are using it for spin. I recommend any overhead rod at the same price point if you're using an overhead. If you are using it for droning I recommend any rod that isn't 10ft plus because it puts too much pressure on your body and you should be droning from an elevated platform, like a sand dune. In summary this rod attempts to do a range of different styles of fishing and does them all poorly.

@@harizona1988 Thanks for your opinion, have you used the Predator? Thats a pretty broad statement to recommend any rod for casting or spinning. Not every spot permits droning from dunes mate, that's a very narrow minded approach to drone fishing based on your description.

I own a predator with a saltiga 50, beautiful rod, I just wish it was 4 to 6 inches longer in the butt because its not easy to cast an overhead with when I don't feel like droning with it. Just my observation, the sound was pretty low, I just watched a heap of KZbin videos and the sound was all consistent, your opening scene I had to crank the volume to hear you

@@jonnywaselectric sounds is good my end, I cant factor everybody's setup when editing. Appreciate the feedback, it's too hard to get right when people say it's too loud and others say it's too quiet. That's why I say can't please everyone. Can you give me a time stamp of where the audio isn't loud enough sir?
