I got the same model tractor in roughly the same condition. Spent around 600 in total getting it back to right. New tires, blades, idlers, fuel lines, ignition coils, battery, fuel pump, led headlight bulbs, new seat, and belts. Great tractor, well worth the money and time it took vs buying an overpriced new one.❤ Pulled the engine cover off and found a giant mouse nest on the block. Don’t run it that way or you’ll overheat that cylinder and trash the v twin.

This ball joint is greasable. It just uses the needle style. Is there a reason why you only torqued the wheels and not the ball joints nuts and the axle nuts? Great video and straight to the point. Gonna do this soon.

I have one of these I bought a few years ago, and have been trying to work it into a going concern since. Sears only sold about a thousand of these, it's an MTD built machine, before production was stopped after a recall. They tended to crack the axle gear, and then it would lose drive and brakes too. It's cousin the Yard Bug doesn't have that problem because the rear axle in those had a differential. www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2002/cpsc-and-sears-announce-recall-of-riding-lawn-mower

Everyone is saying 4.7s are junk when i know a guy who has 600K miles original engine if you maintain the 4.7 it will be a reliable engine ive seen many 5.7 hemis blow up at 50K miles which is ridiculous but its because people never maintain their cars people think 1 oil change must last 100K miles like wtf
