Old Ariens Riding Mower sitting for maybe 11 YEARS??? How bad can it be?

I scooped up this mower for very cheap in unknown condition, and see if I can turn it into a turnkey machine again, with a couple hiccups along the way of course...

Batteries can be charged up backwards also

Jeez, dude! You rotated the battery around 180 degrees and then hooked it up wrong again! Or am I missing something?

No it just made more sense to put the terminals on that side because of the lengths of the cables. I only did it backwards once haha

He hooked em up exactly the same the second time..maybe the starter was on upside down?..lol..never the less..still entertaining

Its a 2012 Its an AYP not mtd. 5 th and 6th digit of serial number under back seat dictates the year.

That would make sense since the battery is from 2012. But that’s pretty crazy that it would have the original battery in it. It must have been used for a few years and then that was that

Very low hour mower with that 2012 battery still in it... I picked up the exact same Mower a 2012 also, older gentleman only use it about six times, wife said she only wanted $150 for it, best bargain I ever got and it was stored in a shed, looks brand new.
