I hope you have a good time in NY. Glad you and your partner didn't quit youtube Would be amazing if one day you consider making a video plz about social life and making friends in KL with Muslim Malay. Or native Malay in general Are they open to expats. How do you make friends with them? Etc And cultural friendship norms

Thank you. We're back, and ready to make more videos. That's a good suggestion. I think overall it's easy to make friends with Malaysians from different backgrounds. We felt very welcome. While, we don't actively search out friendships and just let friendships grow organically. We haven't really had any problems. You can make friends with people in your condo, work, gyms(CrossFit), joining classes (art classes). Honestly there are plenty of opportunities.

That was a very shallow comparison of the two cities. You didn’t say what are the differences between them. You are a New Yorker at heart. Find your voice.

You definitely can bring your own bag, it just needs to be visible to see the inside. I use chrochet mesh bag for produce 😅 but again every market have their own rules. Some dont even offer any plastic bags and some charges for every plastic you bagged. I dont remember the fees was, it has been awhile for me. It used to be 20 sen per plastic for those who do have plastic bag offered to pack your groceries.

You can buy nasi lemak at any street stall. But be careful to buy only from locals, not foreign immigrants coz they are illegal sellers. They usually did not get the necessary injections.

I am a Malaysian who immigrated to the U.S. since 2008. I grew up in Petaling Jaya, very close to Kuala Lumpur and if you are looking for pork, there's a market in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail where they sell pork at the basement floor. Hope this helps.
